It is learned that the appeal made on August 20, 2024, to the chief public prosecutor’s office in Bursa by lawyers in order to visit their clients PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, Ömer Hayri Konar, Hamili Yıldırım and Veysi Aktaş in İmralı Prison was not responded.

It is learned from the news coverage of August 19, 2024, that 7 people including Abdülhakim Daş, chair of Eastern and Southeastern Associations Platform (DGD) and Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Party Assembly (PM) member Eşref Yaşar, who were detained in house raids in Istanbul on August 13, 2024, on the grounds of ‘being a member of an illegal organization’, were released by the criminal peace judgeship on judicial control conditions.

1 of the 10 people who were detained on the grounds of ‘being a member of an illegal organization’ and ‘making propaganda for an illegal organization’ in house raids in Izmir on August 14, 2024, was reportedly released by the criminal peace judgeship on judicial control conditions on the same day. It is learned that 2 of 9 people who were referred to the criminal peace judgeship on August 16, 2024, were released on judicial control conditions, 1 of them was released unconditionally, and 6 people were arrested on the grounds of ‘being a member of an illegal organization’. The names of detained and arrested people could not be learned.
(08/156) Verbal Attack on an Artist at a Concert in Istanbul…
It is learned from the news coverage of August 20, 2024, that on August 19, 2024, a group of people alleged to be members of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) tried to prevent the concert by chanting slogans saying ‘We do not want terrorists in Beykoz’ during Suavi’s concert in the Beykoz district of Istanbul, as part of World Beykoz People’s Day celebrations. It is also reported in the news that Suavi’s concert was previously targeted by the MHP Beykoz District Office.
