(08/008) Operations and Attacks…
It is learned that 1 police officer (Ramazan Kütük) was injured in an armoured police vehicle rolling over in Karaköprü district of Urfa on August 1, 2023 and died in hospital.
(08/009) Soldiers Injured in Hatay….
It is learned that 10 soldiers were injured in a military vehicle crash on the way to Dörtyol district to Iskenderun district oh Hatay on August 1, 2023.
(08/010) Phobic Attack on Trans Woman in Istanbul…
It is learned from the news coverage of July 31, 2023 that, a trans woman named Atiye Güney was subjected to attack of 3 anonymous people in Pendik district of Istanbul and was injured. It is reported that another person along with Atiye Güney was also injured. It is stated in the news reports that Atiye Güney was threatened and harassed by the residents of the neighbourhood and the local authority. Atiye Güney stated the following to the press: “I went to the store for shopping, it was around 7 p. m. Someone pulled my hair and I thought it was my boyfriend, making a joke. But when I turned around, I saw 3 men and they started to beat me. One of them punched me in the eye, one pulled my hair. They all ran away when I started yelling (…) I told my boyfriend what has happened and I saw those men beating me at that time and I showed them to my boyfriend. When he went to them to ask why they have done so, they beat him too, they broke his arm.”

It is learned that the appeal made on August 1, 2023 to chief public prosecutor’s office in Bursa by the lawyers of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, in order to visit him was not responded
(08/012) Police Intervention to Protest in Ankara…
The police intervened in the press declaration of Ankara Women’s Platform in front of Ankara Sincan Prison on august 1, 2023. It is learned that the police tore the banner and the Greens and Left Future Party (YSP) deputies were subjected to physical violence. It is reported that nobody was detained in the intervention.
(08/013) Detained People in Şırnak…
It is learned that 1 person (I. C.) was detained in a house raid in Beytüşşebap district of Şırnak on August 1, 2023. The reason for detention is unknown.
(08/014) Areas Prohibited from Civil Entry in Şırnak…
Şırnak Governorate’s office made a statement on July 27, 2023 and banned entry and exit and any kind of activities of civilians in Mujili Crest, Gilatte Creek, Dolap Hill, Meme Hill, Berereş Hill, Uç Hill, Kel Hill, Beyazsu Hill, Çalı Hill, Meşkul Hill and Dona Hill regions within the borders of Uludere district between July 27 – August 10, 2023.
Şırnak Governorate’s office made a statement on July 29, 2023 and banned entry and exit and any kind of activities of civilians in Red Creek, Öküzburun Hill, Siyahçeşme Creek and Ballı Creek regions within the borders of Beytüşşebap district between July 29 – August 4, 2023.
