It is learned from the news coverage of August 18, 2023 that, a person named Gökhan Olgun was subjected to torture and ill-treatment of the police on street in Germencik district of Aydın on July 25, 2023. It is reported that after the video footage of the torture against Gökhan Olgun was covered by the media, Aydın Public Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation and Gökhan Olgun’s testimony was taken.

It is learned from the news coverage of August 18, 2023 that, in Istanbul Marmara (Silivri) L Type Prison No. 5 the number of books per prison was restricted to 7 and the petitions of prisoners were not responded by the prison administration.

It is learned that the appeal made on August 17, 2023 to chief public prosecutor’s office in Bursa by the lawyers of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, in order to visit him was not responded.

It is learned that 13 of 24 people (Fatma Bulut, Hünaf Safalı, Sabriye Ürek, Saadet Değirmenci, Duriye Bor, Seniha Geylan, Ayhan Dayan, Emine Özdel, Mahsume Akın, Münire Bayram, Hafset Fendik, Hevidar Şaban Ali and Faysal Açar) who were detained in house raids in central, Yüksekova, Çukurca and Şemdinli districts of Hakkari on August 15, 2023 were released after statement procedures at the police on August 17, 2023. 11 people whose names could not be learned were released by the court on judicial control conditions on August 18, 2023.

It is learned that an anonymous person attacked on the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) provincial office in Iğdır on August 17, 2023 and the signboard of the office was damaged.

It is learned that 20 people were detained in Izmir on August 17, 2023.
