(04/201) Person Died by Security Forces Fire in Hakkari…

It is learned that a 21-year-old person, Tahsin Yalçın, lost his life by the fire opened by soldiers in Derecik district of Hakkari on April 16, 2022.

(04/202) Attack on TİP Executive in Diyarbakır…

It is learned that, the Workers’ Party of Turkey (TİP) Diyarbakır provincial chair Salih Sargın was attacked by 3 unknown persons using knives, in front of his house on April 14, 2022. It is reported that Salih Sargın was injured in the attack.

(04/203) Attack on Left Party Members in Istanbul…

It is learned that the Left Party members who opened a stand and were distributing leaflets in Maltepe district of Istanbul on April 15, 2022 were attacked by a group saying “you cannot open a stand here”, and 3 members were injured.

It is learned from the news coverage of April 16, 2022 that, 4 HPG militants died in Qandil area of the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government in February 2022.

The Ministry of National Defence launched a military operation, “Claw-Lock”, against the areas within the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government in April 17, 2022.

It is learned from the news coverage of April 15, 2022 that, 10 prisoners who have been subjected to torture and ill-treatment in Istanbul Silivri L Type Prison No 5, were transferred to several other prisons: Karabük T Type, Manisa Akhisar T Type, Bolu T Type, Düzce T Type, İzmir T Type No 1, Manisa T Type, İzmir F Type No 2, Eskişehir H Type, Manisa Salihli T Type, Kütahya Tavşanlı T Type prisons.

(04/206) Hunger Strikes in Prisons…

It is learned from the news coverage of April 16, 2022 that, Umut Yoloğlu, a prisoner in Istanbul Silivri L Type Prison No 6, started a 1-month hunger strike to support Sibel Balaç and Gökhan Yıldırım who are on hunger strike for fair trial.

It is learned from the news coverage of April 17, 2022 that, 2 prisoners in Istanbul Silivri L Type Prison No 7, started a 10-day hunger strike to demand an end to right violations.

It is learned from the news coverage of April 18, 2022 that, Deniz Şah, a prisoner in Izmir Kırıklar F Type Prison No 2, started a 10-day hunger strike to support Sibel Balaç and Gökhan Yıldırım who are on hunger strike for fair trial.

(04/207) Meeting Request with Abdullah Öcalan Not Responded…

It is learned that the appeal made on April 15, 2022 to chief public prosecutor’s office in Bursa by families and tutelary of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, and Ömer Hayri Konar, Hamili Yıldırım and Veysi Aktaş in Imralı Prison, in order to visit them was not responded.

(04/208) Police Intervention to a Protest in Istanbul…

The police intervened the press declaration of the Solidarity Initiative for Prisoners (TDI) in front of the Forensic Medicine Institution in Bahçelievler district of Istanbul on April 15, 2022; and detained 3 people (Ertan Çıta, Abdulmelik Yalçın and Hıdır Sabur). It is learned that the police forced the journalists away from the area by using physical violence. Detained people are released on the same day.

The police intervened the press declaration for ill prisoners, held in front of the Forensic Medicine Institution in Bahçelievler district of Istanbul on April 15, 2022; and detained 1 person (Feridun Osmanağaoğlu).

(04/210) Detained Person in Ankara…

It is learned that one person who was talking with the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Kocaeli MP Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu, after the press declaration held in Çankaya district of Ankara on April 17, 2022, by the families of military students who had been arrested through July 15 coup attempt investigations; is detained by the police saying “the declaration is over”.

(04/211) Detained People Through Ankara Based Investigation…

It is learned from the news coverage of April 16, 2022 that, assets of 91 people for whom detention warrants were issued through an Ankara based investigation under the name of “Kobanê Investigation” on April 12, 2022; will be taken as precaution.

It is reported that detention period for 48 people who were detained in operations covering 13 cities is extended 4 more days.

Detained people are: Zeki Çelik, Mehmet Akın, Hafize İpek, Gülüm Bayram, Mehmet Koyuncu, Burhanettin Bedüş, Metin Kılavuz, Fazıl Türk, Selami Turhan, Hasan Uğur Çat, Ülfiye Özcan, Osman Kaya, Navaf Ok, Hüseyin Daş, Fecri Tayfur, Sevim Soylu, Mehmet Mustafa Bilgiç, Şefik Özbey, Necmettin Aslan, Mehmet Sarih Zümrüt, Eyüphan Öcal, Erdal Avcı, Sonay Avcı, Fesih Yalçın, Halis Bilen, Atalay Bayrak, Hakim Güneş, Suphi Güneş, Ümit Güneş, Nizamettin Onar, Mustafa Demir, Nihat Salmış, Nihat Gezici, Murat Kaçar, Halil Aslanlı, Hüseyin Vural, Berat Anlı, Abdullah Bozkoyunlu, Kemal Ünver, Seydoş Danış, Gülşen Duran, Zana Döner, Selçuk Tazgel, Rasim Çelik, Ayşe Kaçar, Murat Demirkıran, İlyas Tekin.

(04/212) Detentions Related to Newroz Celebrations…

On April 15, 2022 for 66 people were detained through the investigation of Diyarbakır Public Prosecutor’s Office on Newroz celebration in the city. 37 people including Kurdish Xwebûn newspaper’s grant owner Kadri Esen and journalist Ali Koçer are released by the court on April 16, 2022 provided that 5 of them will be on judicial control conditions. 2 people (İnanç Mutlu, Faruk Azarkan) are arrested. It is learned that 27 people are still under custody.

(04/213) Detained Person in Batman…

Yahya Karabaş, who was detained in Kozluk district of Batman on March 31, 2022 and was subjected to torture and ill-treatment under custody before he was released by the court, was detained once again on the grounds of new evidence on April 10, 2022. And he was released by the court on judicial control conditions on April 11, 2022. Yahya Karabaş is detained once again at the police station where he went for judicial control obligations on April 15, 2022; and arrested by the court on the charges of ‘being an illegal organisation member’ and ‘possession and supply of explosives’.

It is learned that a member of IYI Party, Alp Emeç, was detained on the grounds of ‘insulting the president’ in a social media post that he had deleted, and was arrested by the court on April 16, 2022.

(04/215) Deniz Poyraz’s Father on Trial in Izmir…

It is learned that the indictment of Izmir Public Prosecutor’s Office against Abdülillah Poyraz, father of Deniz Poyraz, on the grounds of ‘making propaganda for an illegal organisation member’ in an interview of him published on the press, was accepted by Izmir Heavy Penal Court No 15 on April 15, 2022. The first trial will be held on May 30, 2022. Deniz Poyraz was killed in the racist attack on HDP’s Izmir office.

It is learned that an unknown person organized an armed attack on the Development and Progress Party (DEVA) office in Pütürge district of Malatya on April 16, 2022 which caused material damage.

(04/217) Attack on HDP Office in Adana…

It is learned that an attack was organized by unknown person or persons on HDP office in Çukurova district in Adana on April 17, 2022 which caused material damage.

(04/218) Removal of CHP Banner in Rize…

It is learned from the news coverage of April 17, 2022 that, the banners of the Republican People’s Party (CHP) in Rize, reading “The Tea Law Proposal of us, which prohibits purchasing below the announced tea purchase price, was rejected by the government and its partners”, were removed by the police.

It is learned that the news reports about a member of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) who had a tender from a CHP municipality, published on https://t24.com.tr and https://www.sozcu.com.tr websites are banned to access on the grounds of violation of personal rights, by Ankara Penal Court of Peace No 7 on April 13, 2022.

(04/220) Covid-19 Pandemic…

The Ministry of Health declared that 18 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and the daily number of Covid-19 cases is 4,425 as of April 15, 2022.

The Ministry of Health declared that 19 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and the daily number of Covid-19 cases is 4,086 as of April 16, 2022.

The Ministry of Health declared that 17 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and the daily number of Covid-19 cases is 3,268 as of April 17, 2022.

The death toll from Covid-19 in Turkey increased to 98,568 and total number of confirmed ill patients is 14,994,937 as of April 17, 2022.
