(06/145) Meeting Request with Abdullah Öcalan Not Responded…

It is learned that the appeal made on June 14, 2021 to chief public prosecutor’s office in Bursa by PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan’s lawyers in order to visit their client was not responded.

(06/146) Police Intervention to a Protest in Istanbul…

The police intervened the sit-in protest in Bakırköy Square of Istanbul on June 14, 2021, organized by public employees to demand their jobs back from which they had been dismissed by state of emergency decrees, and detained 1 person (Nursel Tanrıverdi). Nursel Tanrıverdi is released after statement procedures on the same day.

(06/147) Detained People in Diyarbakır…

On June 14, 2021, 9 people are detained on the grounds of ‘aiding an illegal organisation’, in house raids in Bağlar, Kayapınar and Ergani districts of Diyarbakır. Detained people are: V. B., A. B., O. B., M. R. T., A. K., H. K., R. O., A. O. and S. Y.

(06/148) Detained HDP Executives in Hakkari…

The Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Hakkari central district co-chair Sinem Seven, Hakkari Women’s Assembly spokesperson Zeynep Kaya, HDP Şemdinli district co-chair Sozdar Atilla and former provincial co-chair Sipan Turan, 4 executives of HDP who were detained in house raids in Hakkari on June 11, 2021 are released by the court on judicial control conditions on June 14, 2021.

(06/149) Person on Trial for Social Media Posts in Ankara…

The final trial of the case against Buse Üçer, a member of Women’s Defence Network in Ankara, for a social media post (“the days that we burn this city down are coming”) that she shared on women murders; is held on June 14, 2021 and the court acquitted Buse Üçer.

(06/150) Curfew in Bitlis…

Bitlis Governorate made a declaration on June 14, 2021 and lifted the curfew as of 19.00 which was announced in 35 villages as of 07.30 on June 12, 2021.

The villages under curfew were: Aşağıbalcılar, Yukarıbalcılar, Ilıcak, Başmaklı, Üçevler, Kalupat, Oğulcak, Çeltikli, Aşağıölek, Yukarıölek, Doğruyol, Bölükyazı, Arıdağ, Akçalı, İçgeçit, Çalıdüzü, Dereağzı, Çadırlı, Karakuş, Aşağıkoçak, Aşağıyolak, Yukarıyolak, Dursun, Yarönü, Beşkaynak, Uçankuş, Kınalı, Bayırlı, Dikme, Yukarıdikme, Aşağıdikme, Kutlu, Akgün, Çobansuyu, Aşağıçobansuyu.

(06/151) Detentions and Arrests in Alleged Link to Coup Attempt…

On June 14, 2021, 57 people are detained in operations covering 32 cities through a Balıkesir based investigation.

(06/152) Trials in Alleged Link to Coup Attempt…

The final trial of the case against 22 people, about the incidents at Istanbul Tuzla Infantry School during the coup attempt on July 15, 2016; is held at Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No 30 on June 14, 2021. The court sentenced 8 people to 15 years each on the charge of ‘aiding a violation of the constitution’; and decided to separate the case against 14 fugitive defendants.

(06/153) Covid-19 Pandemic…

The Ministry of Health declared that 74 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and 428 new Covid-19 ill patients were diagnosed on June 14, 2021. It is also declared that the daily number of Covid-19 cases is 5,626.

The death toll from Covid-19 in Turkey increased to 48,795 and total number of confirmed ill patients is 5,336,073 as of June 14, 2021.
