(11/108) Prisoner Prevented from Right to Health in Prison…
It is learned from the news coverage of November 14, 2025 that, 2 political prisoners in Erzincan Women’s Closed Prison were forced to be examined in handcuffs during hospital transfers and were taken back to prison for rejecting to be examined in handcuffs. It is also stated in the news reports that physicians who demanded the handcuffs to be removed were threatened by gendarmerie gendarmerie saying that a report will be filed if the handcuffs are removed.
Lawyer Ferat Köçeroğlu stated the following in his press declaration “The doctor who was going to examine the prisoners demanded that the handcuffs be removed, but the gendarmerie refused to do so, and said that a report would be filed if the handcuffs were removed upon the doctor’s insistence. The doctor stated that he would not start the treatment unless the handcuffs were removed and that he could not sign any report. During this discussion, the doctor said to the gendarmes, “You took off the handcuffs of the prisoners you brought in the morning, why don’t you take them off?”. The gendarmes said, ‘Their crimes are different’ and wanted to bring their files and show them to the doctor. The doctor said that he would not categorize the right to health according to crime. However, the gendarmes tried to state that the prisoners were ‘terror criminals’ and tried to change the doctor’s mind. As a result, they could not carry out the treatment. The prisoners did not accept this situation and the gendarmes took the prisoners back to prison.”
(11/109) Magazine Executives on Trial…
The trial of the case against 6 executives and illustrators of Leman Magazine, on the grounds of a cartoon published in the magazine, started on November 14, 2025 at Istanbul Penal Court of First Instance No 2.
The indictment demands sentence for managing editors Zafer Aknar and Aslan Özdemir, managing editor Ali Yavuz, graphic designer Cebrail Okçu, editor-in-chief Mehmet Tuncay Akgün on the charge of ‘public incitement to hatred and hostility through press and broadcasting’, and for cartoonist Doğan Pehlevan on the charge of ‘public incitement to hatred and hostility through press and broadcasting in a chain’.
The court released Doğan Pehlevan and adjourned the trial to May 5, 2026. It is learned that Doğan Pehlivan, who has an arrest warrant from another case, will not be released.
Doğan Pehlevan, Zafer Aknar, Cebrail Okçu, Ali Yavuz were arrested on July 4, 2025 and Aslan Özdemir was arrested on July 12, 2025. Zafer Aknar, Cebrail Okçu, Ali Yavuz and Aslan Özdemir were released on September 26, 2025. There is an arrest warrant for Mehmet Tuncay Akgün.

It is learned from the news coverage of November 13 and 14, 2025 that, 2 separate X social media accounts of Ekrem İmamoğlu Presidential Candidate Office are banned to access on the grounds of protection of national security and public order.
It is learned from the news coverage of November 13, 2025 that, X social media account named “Ultimaton” is banned to access in accordance with Article 8/A of Law No. 5651 upon the demand of Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.
