Law Office of the Oppressed declared that their client Hıdır Ali Kılıç, who was detained in Izmir on September 12, 2025, was subjected to torture and ill-treatment of the police and was wounded in various parts of his body during detention.

On September 14, 2025, the police intervened TAYAD members who wanted to enter the rally organized by Republican People’s Party (CHP) in Ankara with a banner about hunger strikes in prisons and detained 5 people by using physical violence. 5 people were released the same day after statement procedures.
The names of the detainees are: Rukiye Serçe, Umut Garan, Umutcan Aybak, Celal Elmacı and Sıla Koçyiğit.

On September 13, 2025, the police intervened 1 person who was holding a vigil in front of Justice and Development Party (AKP) Adana provincial building in support of Palestine and forced the person away from the building by using physical violence.
Adana Governorate made a declaration and stated the following: “An inspector was assigned, an administrative and judicial investigation was initiated and 3 police officers were suspended from duty.”

On September 15, 2025, gendarmerie intervened the villagers opposing the uprooting of olive groves in İkizköy rural neighbourhood of Milas district of Muğla and detained 4 people (Halil Şallı, Seçil Şallı, Serpil Şallı and Necla Işık) including Nejla Işık, headman of the neighbourhood. Detainees were released the same day after statement procedures.

Resul Emrah Şahan, the mayor of Şişli district of Istanbul, was arrested by the criminal court of peace on September 13, 2025 on the charges of ‘extortion’ and ‘membership to a criminal organization’ through the corruption investigation against Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB).
Resul Emrah Şahan was arrested on March 24, 2025 on the allegation of ‘aiding an illegal organization’ through ‘urban reconciliation’ investigation.

Within the scope of the investigation against Bayrampaşa Municipality, 44 people including Bayrampaşa Mayor Hasan Mutlu and Deputy Mayors Atilla Özen, Hakan Baş, Lütfi Kadıoğulları and Gündüz Kalkan were detained for ‘bribery’, ‘extortion’, ‘qualified fraud’ and ‘bid rigging’.

People’s Liberation Party (HKP) chair Nurullah Efe Ankut was detained in Istanbul on September 15, 2025 on the allegations of ‘insulting the President’ and ‘publicly disseminating misleading information’ based on a social media post he made. Nurullah Efe Ankut is released by the criminal court of peace on house confinement on the same day.

CHP Beykoz Youth Branch Chair Emre Mert Kılıç was detained due to his social media posts about Beykoz Deputy Mayor Özlem Vural Gürzel, who resigned from CHP and joined AKP on September 15, 2025. Emre Mert Kılıç was released by the criminal court of peace on judicial control conditions on the same day.

DİSK/Genel-İş Union Izmir Branch No 3 executive board member Serhan Demirtaş, Branch No 5 executive board member Olcay Çalık and Workplace Representative Tolga Irmak who were detained on September 11, 2025, on the grounds of participating in the protests in Izmir for detention of IBB Mayor, are released by the criminal court of peace on September 12, 2025 on house confinement as a judicial control measure.

The trial of the lawsuit filed against Ekrem İmamoğlu, the Mayor of IBB, on the grounds that his university diploma is irregular, started on September 12, 2025 at Istanbul Criminal Court of First Instance No 59.
The indictment demands Ekrem İmamoğlu to be sentenced for ‘forgery of official documents in a chain’.
The hearing was held in the courtroom in Marmara (Silivri) Prison Campus instead of Istanbul Çağlayan Courthouse. Ekrem İmamoğlu’s lawyer Mehmet Pehlivan, who is under arrest from another case, connected to the hearing via SEGBİS from the prison where he is being held. Mehmet Pehlivan did not make a defense, saying “I refuse to make a defense without being allowed to meet with my client, without being in the courtroom, without my robe on me. I demand to make a defense in the courtroom in the next hearing by providing the necessary conditions”. The court rejected Mehmet Pehlivan’s request to be present as a lawyer and adjourned the trial to October 20, 2025.

On September 13, 2025, it is learned from news coverage of September 13, 2025 that Istanbul Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office prepared an indictment against Ekrem İmamoğlu, IBB President, for the words he said to a person he met at a fair.
The indictment demands sentence for Ekrem İmamoğlu on the charge of insult.

On September 12, 2025, Mersin Heavy Penal Court No 2 accepted the indictment prepared by Mersin Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office against co-mayors of Akdeniz district of Mersin, Hoşyar Sarıyıldız and Nuriye Arslan, and 8 people including city council member Özgür Çağlar and Mersin provincial co-chair of Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Reşat Aşan.
The indictment demands sentence for 10 people on the charges of ‘being an illegal organization member’, ‘making propaganda for an illegal organization’, ‘violating the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations No 2911’ and ‘financing an illegal organization’. The first hearing of the case will be held on October 31, 2025.
Hoşyar Sarıyıldız, Nuriye Arslan and Özgür Çağlar were arrested on January 13, 2025.

On September 14, 2025, it is learned from news coverage of September 14, 2025 that Istanbul Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office prepared an indictment against Suat Toktaş, Mehmet Tezkan and İbrahim Kahveci, executive editor of Halk TV, for the remarks they made in a program.
The indictment demands sentence for 3 journalists on the charge of ‘insulting the President’.

On September 14, 2025, it is learned from news coverage of September 14, 2025 that the indictment prepared by Istanbul Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office against journalists Timur Soykan and Barış Pehlivan, on the grounds of the remarks they made on a TV program, is accepted by Bakırköy Penal Court of First Instance No 2.
The indictment demands sentence for 2 journalists on the charge of ‘publicly spreading misleading information’.

The trial of the case against CHP Youth Branch Chair Cem Aydın for his social media post about Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor continued on September 15, 2025 at Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No 14. The indictment demands sentence for Cem Aydın on the charges of ‘publicly insulting a public officer because of his duty’ and ‘targeting people who took part in the fight against terrorism’. The court adjourned the hearing to November 28, 2025.

On September 13, 2025, it is learned from the news coverage of September 13, 2025 that, at least 200 social media posts and at least 20 social media accounts related to the death of Van Yüzüncü Yıl University student Rojin Kabaiş are banned to access on the grounds of protection of national security and public order, upon the demand of Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Rectorate, by Van Penal Judgeships of Peace No 8 and 2.
On September 14, 2025, it is learned from the news coverage of September 14, 2025 that access to X social media accounts of Perplexity AI application was banned on the grounds of protection of national security and public order, in accordance with Article 8/A of Law No 5651.
