(12/078) Political Party Member Subjected to Forced Spying in Malatya…

It is learned from the news coverage of December 15, 2025 that Hasan Hüseyin Bozkuş, a member of Labour Party (EMEP) in Malatya, was subjected to being forced to be a police informant by the police.

EMEP Malatya Provincial Chair made the following statement on the issue: “At the restaurant, the police asked Bozkuş to give information about the conversations within the party, what the provincial chairman was planning and especially about the Akçadağ district chairman and district executives. (…) Hasan Hüseyin made it clear that the Labour Party was a legal party, that he could not make a statement about anyone and that he would not accept such a thing, but the police insisted and tried to spy on him by putting money in his coat pocket along with his rifle license (…). ) One of the police officers introducing himself as “Tekin” continued to ask for information over the phone (…) Although our member responded ‘I don’t know, I don’t know’ to Tekin’s question ‘Is there anything this weekend’, he continued to persuade and coerce him by saying ‘OK, brother, we’ll keep in touch. He still continues to pressure and force me with the persuasion method saying ‘if not, you can call’.”

It is learned from the news coverage of December 12, 2025 that, Rahşan Aydın, a prisoner in Izmir Şakran Women’s Prison was deprived of her visit right because she rejected to show her ID card before family visits.

(12/080) Detained Journalist in Istanbul…

On December 14, 2025, journalist Osman Çaklı, who was detained in Istanbul on the allegations of ‘praising crime and criminal’ and ‘insulting the President’ through a social media post, is released by the criminal court of peace on the same day with a ban on leaving the country and signature judicial control measures.

(12/081) Animal Rights Defenders Detained in Ankara…

It is learned from the news coverage of December 14, 2025 that animal rights defenders (Aslı Alpar, Burcu Yağcı and Necla Vuranok) who went to the municipal animal shelter in Mamak district of Ankara to feed animals and observe the conditions, were first detained by the shelter staff and then were detained by gendarmerie. It is reported that 3 people were released after statement procedures at the gendarmerie and Aslı Alpar’s camera was seized.

(12/082) Detained Children for Holding a Banner in Istanbul…

On December 15, 2025, it is learned from the news coverage of December 15, 2025 that, 2 children were detained in a house raid for hanging a banner on the door of Vocational Education Center in Esenler district of Istanbul, on the grounds of hanging a banner about children who lost their lives in work murders, and were released to give their statements to the prosecutor’s office.

It is learned that Zafer Party Dörtyol district chair O.E.G. who was detained in Hatay, is released by the criminal court of peace on judicial control conditions with a ban on leaving the country on December 15, 2025.

(12/084) Music Band Members on Trial…

The final hearing of the case against 6 members of the band Manifest and another person, about the concert held on September 6, 2025 at Küçükçiftlik Park in Istanbul, where the age limit was 18, was held at Istanbul Criminal Court of First Instance No 49 on December 15, 2025. The court sentenced 7 people to 3 months and 22 days for ‘committing indecent acts by exposing themselves’ and deferred the announcement of the verdict. The court also lifted the ban on leaving the country for 7 people.

(12/085) Person on Trial in Istanbul…

The final hearing of the lawsuit filed on the grounds of singer Gülben Ergen’s social media post about a 2-year-old baby who lost her life was held at Istanbul Criminal Court of First Instance No 45 on December 12, 2025. The court acquitted Gülben Ergen on the charge of ‘insult’.

(12/086) Nihat Kazanhan Case…

On December 12, 2025, the retrial of the case against special operations police officer M.N.G. for the killing of Nihat Kazanhan (12, m) in Cizre district of Şırnak in 2015 by police fire, following the Constitutional Court’s ruling on violation of the right to life, continued at Cizre Heavy Penal Court No 1. The court adjourned the trial to March 13, 2025.

(12/087) Shut Down LGBTI+ Association in Izmir…

On December 12, 2025, it is learned from the news coverage of December 12, 2025 that, Izmir Civil Court of First Instance No 3 ruled for the dissolution of Genç LGBTI+ Association in Izmir, on the grounds of social media posts.
