(05/070) Operations and Attacks…

The Ministry of Defence declared that 1 soldier (Osman Alp) died and 4 soldiers got wounded in an attack to a military convoy in Idlib area of Syria on May 10, 2021.

It is learned from the news coverage of May 11, 2021 that, 6 militant died in a clash between security forces and HPG militants in rural areas of Diyarbakır on April 27, 2021.

(05/071) Torture and Ill-Treatment in Prison…

It is learned from the news coverage of May 11, 2021 that, Selami Keleş, a prisoner who has been transferred from Düzce T Type Prison to Samsun Bafra T Type Prison under coercion on May 7, 2021; was subjected to physical violence of correction officers for resisting to strip search at the entrance of prison. It is also stated in the news coverage that Selami Keleş was also subjected to a disciplinary proceeding.

(05/072) Meeting Request with Abdullah Öcalan Not Responded…

It is learned that the appeal made on May 11, 2021 to chief public prosecutor’s office in Bursa by PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan’s lawyers in order to visit their client was not responded.

(05/073) Police Intervention to a Protest in Istanbul…

The police intervened the press declaration of “We Want to Live” initiative, to draw attention to 10th anniversary of Turkey’s ratification of Istanbul Convention; and detained 3 people (Havva Cuştan, Sinem Tuğcu, Rabia Ada) by using physical violence, in Beyoğlu district of Istanbul on May 11, 2021.

(05/074) Covid-19 Pandemic…

The Ministry of Health declared that 278 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and 1,582 new Covid-19 ill patients were diagnosed on May 11, 2021. It is also declared that the daily number of Covid-19 cases is 14,497.

The death toll from Covid-19 in Turkey increased to 43,589 and total number of confirmed ill patients is 5,059,433 as of May 11, 2021.

It is learned that nurse Merve Cesur in Sivas lost her life from Covid-19 on May 11, 2021.

It is learned from the news coverage of May 11, 2021 that, Enes Cengiz, former co-mayor of Veysel Karani town of Siirt who is being kept in a single ward in Batman Beşiri T Type Prison tested positive for Covid-19.
