According to news reports published on June 11, 2025, two individuals named M.Y. and İ.G. were subjected to physical violence by police officers who intervened in a fight on June 4, 2025, in the Siverek district of Urfa.

On June 11, 2025, police intervened in a protest organized by Republican People’s Party (CHP) in front of the television building in response to a social about Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek’s death. It was reported that no one was detained during the intervention.

It was reported that the Pride March scheduled to take place at the Turkish-German University in Istanbul on June 11, 2025, was cancelled after being blocked by police.

On June 11, 2025, five people were detained in house raids in Izmir on allegations of making propaganda for an illegal organization on social media. The names of those detained were not disclosed.

The trial of Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu at the Istanbul Criminal Court of First Instance No. 2 on the grounds of his statement regarding the expert witness in the cases he is facing, began on June 12, 2025. The indictment seeks the punishment of Ekrem İmamoğlu for the crimes of “attempting to influence a fair trial” and “attempting to influence those performing judicial duties.”
It was learned that the hearing was decided to be held on June 11, 2025, in the courtroom located within the Istanbul Marmara (Silivri) Prison Complex instead of the Istanbul Çağlayan Courthouse. Ekrem İmamoğlu did not attend the hearing. The court postponed the hearing to September 26, 2025.

The trial of journalist Rahime Karvar at the Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No. 24 began on June 12, 2025. The indictment seeks the punishment of Rahime Karvar for “being a member of an organization.”
The court decided to release Rahime Karvar and postponed the hearing to July 17, 2025.
Rahime Karvar was arrested on January 20, 2025.

The trial of Zafer Party General Chairman Ümit Özdağ at the Istanbul Criminal Court of First Instance No. 18, began on June 11, 2025. The indictment seeks the punishment of Ümit Özdağ for the crime of “openly inciting the public to hatred and hostility.” The court decided to continue Ümit Özdağ’s detention and postponed the hearing to June 17, 2025.
Ümit Özdağ was arrested on January 21, 2025.

The trial of Hivda Selen, a member of the Central Coordination Committee of the Socialist Youth Associations Federation (SGDF) and the Free Young Women (ÖGK) organization, began on June 11, 2025, at the Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No. 26. The indictment seeks the punishment of Hivda Selen for the crime of “being a member of an organization.” The court decided to release Hivda Selen and postponed the hearing to September 23, 2025.
Hivda Selen was arrested on January 24, 2025.

According to news reports on June 11, 2025, an indictment prepared by the Kayseri Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office against Erciyes University student S.K. on the grounds of his social media posts related to the arrest of the Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor was accepted by the Kayseri Criminal Court of First Instance No. 8. The indictment seeks punishment for S.K. on charges of “openly inciting others to commit a crime.” The first hearing in the case will be held on November 18, 2025.

According to news reports on June 12, 2025, an investigation was launched by the Muğla Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office against three members of the Güneşin Sofrası Platformu (Volkan Doğer, Ayhan Ongun, and Mesut Ekici) on the grounds of a banner carried during the May 1 rally in Bodrum district of Muğla, and it was learned that the three individuals went to the police station to give their statements.

According to news reports on June 11, 2025, a disciplinary investigation was launched against a student (S.K.) at Erciyes University in Kayseri by the university rectorate on the grounds of his participation in protests.
According to news reports on June 12, 2025, disciplinary investigations were initiated against at least 100 students at Ankara Hacettepe University for participating in protests.
According to news reports on June 12, 2025, disciplinary investigations were initiated against seven students at Istanbul Aydın University for participating in protests. It was reported that one student was suspended for one month as part of the investigation.
On June 12, 2025, it was reported in the press that disciplinary investigations were launched against three students at Istanbul University for participating in protests.

According to news reports on June 11, 2025, it was learned that the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has not yet responded to a criminal complaint filed regarding the torture and other ill-treatment of four individuals named Ahmet S., Samet Ş., Gökhan K., and Zafer Y. while in custody in Bursa on December 4, 2024.
(06/060) Internet Content Subject to Access Restrictions…
It has been learned that access to three social media accounts belonging to journalist Erk Acarer on different platforms has been restricted on the grounds of national security and public order, and that two of these accounts have been made invisible from Turkey.
It has been reported that access has been restricted to a total of 108 news articles and social media posts, including news articles published on June 12, 2025, about a member of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and news articles about the same MP from the past.
