The Ministry of Defence announced that 1 soldier (Ertuğ Güler) who got wounded during the operation “Claw-Eagle 2”, in a clash between military members and HPG militants in Gara area of Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government on February 10, 2021 died in hospital on February 11, 2021.

It is learned from the news coverage of February 11, 2021 that, Anıl Akyüz, Necmettin Erdem, Akın Karakuş and Murat Can Demirci, who were arrested for participating in the protests against new rector appointed to Boğaziçi University, are not given blankets in Istanbul Maltepe L Type Prison No 2.

(02/151) Police Interventions to Protests Against New Rector Appointment to Boğaziçi University…
The police intervened the press declaration of Kocaeli University Solidarity on February 11, 2021, to protest the new rector appointed to Boğaziçi University by the President. The police detained 17 people including Ömer Furkan Özdemir, Kocaeli provincial branch secretary of Education and Science Workers’ Union (Eğitim-Sen); and detained people are released after statement procedures on the same day.
The police intervened the group outside of Istanbul Çağlayan Courthouse on February 11, 2021, who gathered to support 5 people who were detained on the grounds of wall writings to protest the new rector appointment to Boğaziçi University and arrest of students in Istanbul. 9 people (T. K., F. Y., C. U., Z. Ç., S. K., M. Y., E. Ö., E. Ç. and R. Y.) are detained by the police.

5 people who were detained on February 10, 2021 on the grounds of wall writings to protest the new rector appointment to Boğaziçi University and arrest of students in Istanbul; are released by the court on judicial control conditions on February 11, 2021.
On February 11, 2021, a demonstration was held in Esenyurt district of Istanbul to protest the police intervention to supporters outside of Istanbul Çağlayan Courthouse; and following the demonstration 3 members of Community Houses were detained in house raids.

The final trial of the case against former HDP co-chair Figen Yüksekdağ, on the grounds of ‘insulting the President’ in her declaration about arrest of journalists Can Dündar and Erdem Gül, is held at Ankara Heavy Penal Court No 10 on February 11, 2021.
Figen Yüksekdağ joined the trial from prison via sound and vision system. The court acquitted Figen Yüksekdağ.

The trial of the case against İbrahim Çiçek, co-mayor of Yenişehir district, is held at Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court No 8 on February 11, 2021. İbrahim Çiçek was elected as HDP co-mayor of Yenişehir district of Diyarbakır but his certificate was not approved on the grounds that he was dismissed from his job by a state of emergency decree.
The indictment demands sentence for İbrahim Çiçek on the charge of ‘being an organisation member’.
İbrahim Çiçek joined the trial from prison via sound and vision system. After defence hearings the court decided to terminate the proceedings on the grounds of opposition to adjudicatory procedures and to the Law on Criminal Procedure, for another case which resulted in non-prosecution was consolidated with this case; and released İbrahim Çiçek.
İbrahim Çiçek was detained and arrested on August 14, 2020.

The trial of the case against İlke Başak Baydar, Ezgi Bedel and Özgür Bedel, members of Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) and Socialist Youth Associations Federation (SGDF), is held at Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No 22 on February 11, 2021.
After defence hearings the court released İlke Başak Baydar, Ezgi Bedel and Özgür Bedel, and adjourned the trial.

After defence hearings the court released Zekeriya Aykut Kamap and Alper Kaba, and adjourned the trial.

The trial of the case against Jinnews Agency reporter Melike Aydın, for her news reports, is held at Izmir Heavy Penal Court No 2 on February 11, 2021.
The court adjourned the trial to June 8, 2021.
Melike Aydın was detained on November 12, 2019 and was arrested by the court on November 16, 2019. Melike Aydın was released upon her lawyers’ appeal on January 30, 2020.

The trial of the case against Özer Akdemir, Evrensel newspaper’s Izmir correspondent and İlyas Tekin, a worker, is held at Çine Penal Court of First Instance on February 11, 2021. The case was opened for a photograph published on the newspaper, depicting the working conditions in a mining plant in Çine district of Aydın.
The indictment demands sentence for 2 people on the charge of ‘illegally obtaining and disseminating data’.
After defence hearings the court adjourned the trial to March 25, 2021.

(02/166) Covid-19 Pandemic…
The Ministry of Health declared that 94 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and 660 new Covid-19 ill patients were diagnosed on February 11, 2021. It is also declared that the daily number of Covid-19 case is 7,590.
The death toll from Covid-19 in Turkey increased to 27,187 and total number of confirmed ill patients is 2,564,427 as of February 11, 2021.
