(06/127) Operations and Attacks…

It is learned from the news coverage of June 11, 2021 that, 1 militant died in a clash between security forces and HPG militants in rural areas of Şırnak on June 7, 2021; 2 HPG militants died in a clash in rural areas of Mardin on March 29, 2021.

The Ministry of National Defence declared that, Rıdvan Sağdıç, a soldier who got wounded due to a weapon accident at 70th Mechanized Infantry Brigade Command in Nusaybin district of Mardin where he was on compulsory duty; died in hospital on June 10, 2021.

It is learned from the news coverage of June 11, 2021 that, 1 soldier (Egemen Öztürk) died in a crash in rural areas of Kağızman district of Kars on June 8, 2021.

The Ministry of Defence declared that 1 soldier (Muhammed Ali Akın) died in a clash in Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government on June 12, 2021.

It is learned from the news coverage of June 13, 2021, 5 militants died in a clash between Turkish Armed Forces and HPG militants in Avaşin area of Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government.

It is learned that 4 children were hit by a motorcycle police team in Bağlar district of Diyarbakır on June 12, 2021, and they all are injured while one of them is in serious condition.

(06/129) Attack to Mayor in Trabzon…

Mustafa Bıyık, IYI Party mayor of Yomra district of Trabzon, was subjected to an armoured attack on June 11, 2021. It is learned that Mustafa Bıyık was not wounded, and 2 people (Halit A. and Tolgahan K.) who were detained are arrested by the court on June 13, 2021.

It is learned from the news coverage of June 13, 2021 that, Murat Can, a prisoner in Silivri Prison was not allowed to attend the funeral of his mother and father who lost their lives in a car crash.

(06/131) Meeting Request with Abdullah Öcalan Not Responded…

It is learned that the appeal made on June 11, 2021 to chief public prosecutor’s office in Bursa by PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan’s lawyers in order to visit their client was not responded.

(06/132) Police Intervention to a Protest in Istanbul…

The police intervened the press declaration about the allegations that Sedat Peker asserts in his videos, organized by the Revolutionary Party in Beyoğlu district of Istanbul on June 11, 2021; and detained 10 people by using physical violence. It is learned that the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Istanbul MP Musa Piroğlu was also subjected to physical violence of the police. It is reported that 1 person was injured at the eye. Detained people are released by the court on judicial control conditions on June 12, 2021.

Mustafa Avcı, co-mayor of Van, who was detained in Van through a Kocaeli based investihation and Zehra Güçen, Dilşa Kocakaya, Gazal Dilek and Tülay Demir who were detained in Kocaeli on June 8, 2021; are released by the court on judicial control conditions on June 11, 2021.

(06/134) Detained HDP Members and Executives in Istanbul…

2 of 4 members and executives of HDP who were detained in house raids in Istanbul on June 9, 2021, are arrested by the court on June 13, 2021, while 2 people are released on judicial control conditions. Arrested people are: HDP provincial executives Fener Günana and Ahmet Subaşı. Beyoğlu district co-chair Mehmet Sait Bor and HDP employee Mustafa Turgut are released on judicial control conditions.

(06/135) Detained HDP Executives in Hakkari…

On June 11, 2021, 4 executives of HDP are detained in house raids in Hakkari. Detained people are: central district co-chair Sinem Seven, Hakkari Women’s Assembly spokesperson Zeynep Kaya, Şemdinli district co-chair Sozdar Atilla and former provincial co-chair Sipan Turan.

On June 11, 2021, HDP member Zindan Mola is detained in house raids in Cizre district of Şırnak on June 11, 2021. The reason of detention is unknown.

(06/137) The Case Against Former HDP MP…

On June 12, 2021, the Penal Department No 2 of Diyarbakır Regional Court rejected to appeal to the jail sentence given to Leyla Güven, HDP’s former Hakkari MP who has been stripped of MP status and Democratic Society Congress (DTK) co-chair. Leyla Güven was sentenced by Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court No 9 to 22 years and 3 months on the charges of ‘being an illegal organisation member’ and ‘making propaganda for an illegal organisation’. The court also rejected to release Leyla Güven from prison.

(06/138) HDP MP and Former MPs on Trial…

The trial of the case against HDP’s Diyarbakır MP İmam Taşçıer and former MPs İdris Baluken and Çağlar Demirel, on the grounds of ‘insulting the President’ in their speeches; is held at Diyarbakır Penal Court of First Instance No 12 on June 12, 2021.

The prosecutor demanded sentence for İdris Baluken and Çağlar Demirel on the charges of ‘publicly degrading the state and its organs’ and ‘insulting the President’; and that the proceedings against İmam Taşçıer should be ended as he has legal impunity according to Article 83 of the Constitution. The court decided to end proceedings against İmam Taşçıer and adjourned the trial.

(06/139) Investigation Against People for Participating in a Protest in Hakkari…

It is learned that an investigation was launched against 19 people including 1 lawyer and members and executives of HDP, for participating in the press declaration which was held in Hakkari on December 8, 2020 to protest the sexual assault of specialised sergeant Musa Orhan to a child, İpek Er, who died following a suicide attempt. It is learned that 19 people gave their official statements at Hakkari Provincial Directorate of Security.

The people subjected to investigation are: HDP Party Assembly member Erol Cengiz, HDP former provincial co-chair Sinan Kaya, HDP central district co-chair İsmail Seven, HDP Yüksekova district co-chairs Şadiye Kırmızıgül and Abdulkerim Akdoğan, HDP Çukurca district co-chairs Lahice Yaşlı and Ebubekir Kanar, HDP members Derya Özdemir, Selcan Saygı, Öznur Evin, Aliye Timur, Sinem Duran, Emine Armut, Selim Güler, Emin Ertuş, Hasan Engin, İbrahim İnci, Orhan Gür and the Association of Lawyers for Freedom (ÖHD) member lawyer Harika Günay Karataş.

(06/140) The Case on Sürmi İnce’s Death in Hakkari…

The retrial of the case against specialised sergeant Ali Dağkıran, for Sürmi İnce’s (55) death due to gunfire of military members in Yüksekova district of Hakkari, is held at Yüksekova Heavy Penal Court on June 11, 2021. On March 6, 2020, Erzurum Regional Court has reversed the 3 years and 4 months’ sentence given by Yüksekova Heavy Penal Court.

The defendant police officer and his lawyer did not attend the trial. 4 police officers are heard as witnesses. The court rejected to conduct and applied inquiry at the crime scene, to file a criminal complaint against the commander of the police station on duty back then. The prosecutor declared legal opinion and demanded sentence for Ali Dağkıran on the charge of ‘reckless killing’. The court adjourned the trial to July 2, 2021.

On July 18, 2017, Sürmi İnce died due to gunfire shot by military members, while she was carrying food for her children in Büyükçiftlik town of Yüksekova.

It is learned that 13 social media posts of Sedat Peker are banned to access on the grounds of violation of personal rights, by Ankara Penal Court of Peace No 1 on June 11, 2021.

(06/142) Curfew in Bitlis…

Bitlis Governorate made a declaration on June 12, 2021 and announced curfew in 35 villages as of 07.30 on June 12, 2021 until a further notice.

The villages under curfew are: Aşağıbalcılar, Yukarıbalcılar, Ilıcak, Başmaklı, Üçevler, Kalupat, Oğulcak, Çeltikli, Aşağıölek, Yukarıölek, Doğruyol, Bölükyazı, Arıdağ, Akçalı, İçgeçit, Çalıdüzü, Dereağzı, Çadırlı, Karakuş, Aşağıkoçak, Aşağıyolak, Yukarıyolak, Dursun, Yarönü, Beşkaynak, Uçankuş, Kınalı, Bayırlı, Dikme, Yukarıdikme, Aşağıdikme, Kutlu, Akgün, Çobansuyu, Aşağıçobansuyu.

(06/143) Trials in Alleged Link to Coup Attempt…

The final trial of the case against 35 people is held at Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No 23 on June 11, 2021. The court sentenced 6 people to 6 years and 3 months each on the charge of ‘being an illegal organisation member’; 11 people to jail sentenced from 1 year 6 months and 22 days to 2 years and 6 months each on the charge of ‘aiding an illegal organisation’. The court acquitted 14 people and separated the cases against 4 fugitive defendants.

(06/144) Covid-19 Pandemic…

The Ministry of Health declared that 69 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and 561 new Covid-19 ill patients were diagnosed on June 11, 2021. It is also declared that the daily number of Covid-19 cases is 6,261.

The Ministry of Health declared that 75 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and 503 new Covid-19 ill patients were diagnosed on June 12, 2021. It is also declared that the daily number of Covid-19 cases is 6,076.

The Ministry of Health declared that 53 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and 454 new Covid-19 ill patients were diagnosed on June 13, 2021. It is also declared that the daily number of Covid-19 cases is 5,012.

The death toll from Covid-19 in Turkey increased to 48,721 and total number of confirmed ill patients is 5,330,447 as of June 13, 2021.
