On June 11, 2025, the Workers’ Health and Safety Council (İSİG) announced that at least 177 workers, including 12 women, 6 children, and 7 migrants/refugees, lost their lives while working in May 2025.

On June 10, 2025, police intervened in a protest in Kadıköy district of Istanbul related to Turkey’s commercial relations with Israel and detained 5 people. The names of those detained could not be determined.

On June 11, 2025, police intervened in a press statement made by Women’s Solidarity Committees (KDK) in front of the Çağlayan Courthouse in Istanbul prior to the trial of Bahar Aksu, who was killed by her ex-husband, and detained two people on the grounds that a banner referring to the Minister of the Interior contained criminal elements. The names of those detained could not be learned.

According to news reports on June 10, 2025, an arrest warrant was issued by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office against Cafer Mahiroğlu, the owner of Halk TV, on charges of bid rigging.

The final hearing of the trial against Gönül Adıbelli, former Co-Chair of the Health and Social Services Workers’ Union (SES), on charges of union activities, was held on June 10, 2025, at the Ankara Heavy Penal Court No. 4.
The court ruled in favor of Gönül Adıbelli’s acquittal.

According to news reports on June 11, 2025, it was learned that the trial of Aydın Aydoğan, who was accused of making a social media post following the Maraş earthquake, was dismissed by the Bakırköy Civil Court of First Instance No. 16 on April 30, 2025, following a complaint filed by Selçuk Bayraktar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Baykar.

According to news reports published on June 10, 2025, it was learned that an investigation was initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office against a lawyer named Kerim Bütün, who defended individuals who were detained and arrested during protests against the detention and arrest of the Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor. The reason for the investigation could not be determined.
(06/047) Governor’s Decision on Allegations of Torture and Other Ill-Treatment…
According to news reports on June 10, 2025, during the “TRT World Forum” event held at the Istanbul Congress Center on November 29-30, 2024, held at the Istanbul Congress Center on November 29–30, 2024, were detained on the grounds of protesting against Turkey’s commercial relations with Israel during the President’s speech and were arrested on December 2, 2024, on charges of “insulting the President.” It has been learned that the Governor’s Office rejected the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office’s request to investigate the torture and other ill-treatment suffered by the nine individuals. It has also been reported that the appeal filed to overturn this decision was rejected by the 1st Administrative Court of the Istanbul Regional Administrative Court on the grounds that “there is insufficient concrete information and documentation in the case file to warrant a criminal investigation against the individuals in question.”
