(07/079) Labour Killings…
On July 10, 2023, the Worker Health and Worker Safety Council (ISIG) revealed that at least 159 workers including 16 women, 9 children and 7 migrant workers died while working in June, 2023. 889 workers including 77 women, 20 children and 44 migrant workers died in labour killings in the first six months of 2023.

It is learned from the news coverage of July 10, 2023 that 2 militants died in a clash between security forces and HPG militants in the rural areas of Şırnak on July 4, 2023.
(07/081) Torture and Ill-Treatment in Prison…
It is learned from the news coverage of July 10, 2023 that, in Antalya High Security Prison, social and communication rights of the prisoners were prevented, they were allowed to the open air area only one hour a day, the water given to prisoners was insanitary and the prices at the prison commissary were high.
(07/082) Prevention of Right to Health in Prison…
It is learned from the news coverage of July 10, 2023 that, in Antalya S Type High Security Prison, the prisoners were referred to hospitals either with a delay or they were not referred at all.
It is learned from the news coverage of July 10, 2023 that, an ill prisoner named Halise Aksoy in Diyarbakır Women’s Closed Prison was not receiving medical treatment as she was forced to be handcuffed behind her back during hospital transfers.
It is learned from the news coverage of July 11, 2023 that, an ill prisoner named Muhlise Karagüzel who was transferred from Kayseri Women’s Closed Prison to Izmir Menemen R Type Prison, was not receiving medical treatment, she was not given the dietary food she needs, was not referred to hospital, and although Kayseri Forensic Medicine Institution has stated that she could not stay in prison, she was not released as Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institution states the contrary in their report.

It is learned that the appeal made on July 11, 2023 to chief public prosecutor’s office in Bursa by the lawyers of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, in order to visit him was not responded.
(07/084) Police Intervention to a Protest in Ankara…
The police intervened in the press declaration of the Workers’ Party of Turkey (TIP) to protest financial policies of the government in front of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance in Ankara on July 10, 2023 and detained 15 people by using physical violence. Detained people were released on the same day.
(07/085) Police Officer on Trial in Diyarbakır…
The trial of the case against police officer H. A., for causing death of Cihan Can, is held at Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court No. 11 on July 10, 2023. The prosecutor declared legal opinion on the case and demanded sentence for the police officer on the charge of ‘reckless killing’. The court adjourned the trial to September 4, 2023.

(07/086) Attack on Exhibition in Istanbul…
It is learned a group called Unity and Struggle in Opinion Platform which was protesting the exhibition which protested the exhibition titled “Starting from the Middle” at ArtIstanbul Feshane in Eyüp district of Istanbul on July 9, 2023, attempted to attack the exhibition on the grounds that the works “insult national and moral values”. There was also an attack attempt by the Yesevi Alperenler Association on June 27, 2023, with claims that “photographs containing nudity and hostility to the police, LGBTI+ propaganda and films praising socialism were shown”.

It is learned that 10 people were detained in operations covering 3 cities through an Ankara based investigation on July 10, 2023.
