It is learned from the news coverage of February 10, 2025 that, Salim Güran, a prisoner in Erzurum Dumlu High Security Prison No 1, was banned from speaking Kurdish during phone calls and his right to phone calls was limited to once a week.

It is learned from news coverage of February 10, 2025 that, Şervan Muhammed and Kerem Bilgin, prisoners in Urfa T Type Prison No 1, were taken back to prison without being treated because of rejecting to be examined in handcuffs.

On February 10, 2025 it is learned from the news coverage of February 10, 2025 that, the release of Agit Tekin, a prisoner in Çorum L Type Prison, who completed 12 years and 6 months of imprisonment, is postponed to October 11, 2025 by a decision of Prison Administration and Observation Board (CİGK).

It is learned that the appeal made on February 11, 2025 to chief public prosecutor’s office in Bursa in order to visit PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, Ömer Hayri Konar, Hamili Yıldırım and Veysi Aktaş in İmralı Prison was not responded.

On February 10, 2025, the police intervened the march organized by Tevgera Jinên Azad (TJA) in Van and detained 18 people by using physical violence. The detainees were released the same day after statement procedures at the police. The names of the detainees are as follows: Delil Aksoy, Helin Demirtepe, Veysi Şen, Hekim Karşin, Zeynep Tağtekin, Muhammed Orhan, Gülcan Bedirhanoğlu, Selamet İnedi, Evin Babur, Ertuş Kaya, Neçirvan Kaya, Hazar Çevik, Yıldız Tuncer, Zahide Kutlu, Meryem Ürgün and Mizgin Kaya.

On February 11, 2025, 10 people including 2 deputy mayors and 7 city council members are detained in house raids in Istanbul on the grounds of “hiring members of an illegal organization in municipalities”. The names of the detainees are: Kartal Deputy Mayor Cemalettin Yüksel, Ataşehir Deputy Mayor Livan Gür, Üsküdar City Council Member Bülent Kaygun, Sancaktepe City Council Member Elif Gül, Fatih City Council Member Güzin Alparslan, Tuzla City Council Member Hasan Özdemir, Adalar City Council Member Nesimi Aday, Şişli City Council Member Sinan Gür, Beyoğlu City Council Member Turbi Şen and a person named İ.P. are detained.

The final trial of the case against Van Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Abdullah Zeydan is held at Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court No 5 on February 11, 2025. The court sentenced Abdullah Zeydan to 3 years and 9 months on the charge of ‘knowingly and willingly attempting to aid an illegal organization’.

The trial of the case against Cevdet Konak, co-mayor of Tunceli, for his speeches during election period, is held at Tunceli Heavy Penal Court No 2 on February 11, 2025. The indictment demands sentence for Cevdet Konak on the charge of ‘making propaganda for an illegal organization’. The court adjourned the trial to March 18, 2025.
(02/093) Human Rights Defender on Trial in Diyarbakır
The sentence of 6 years and 3 months on the charge of ‘being an illegal organisation member’ given to Fırat Akdeniz, executive board member of Education and Science Workers’ Union (Eğitim-Sen) and Human Rights Association (İHD) Diyarbakır branch by Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court No 11 on March 23, 2022 was approved by Penal Department No 9 of Diyarbakır Regional Court of Appeals on February 11, 2025.
(02/094) Journalists on Trial in Istanbul…
The trial of the case against journalists Esra Solin Dal, Mehmet Aslan and Erdoğan Alayumat continued on February 11, 2025 at Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No 25. The indictment demands sentence for journalists on the charge of ‘being an illegal organization member’. The court decided to ask Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office about the results of other investigation files launched against Mehmet Aslan and Erdoğan Alayumat on the charge of ‘being an illegal organization member’ and adjourned the trial to May 6, 2025.
Esra Solin Dal, Mehmet Aslan and Erdoğan Alayumat were arrested on April 26, 2024 and on May 21, 2024 Istanbul 25th High Criminal Court released the journalists.

On February 11, 2025, the final hearing of the retrial of Ali Hakan Altınay, Yiğit Ali Ekmekçi and Ayşe Mücella Yapıcı, who were sentenced to 18 years in prison by Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No 13 for the Gezi Park protests in 2013, was held. The court acquitted 3 people.
On April 22 and 25, 2022, the final hearings of the retrial of Ali Hakan Altınay, Yiğit Ali Ekmekçi and Ayşe Mücella Yapıcı were held at Istanbul 13th High Criminal Court due to the Gezi Park protests in 2013. On September 28, 2023, the 3rd Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation overturned the 18-year prison sentence against Ali Hakan Altınay, Yiğit Ali Ekmekçi and Ayşe Mücella Yapıcı and ruled for the release of 3 people on judicial control conditions.
(02/096) Police Officer on Trial in Diyarbakır
The retrial of the case against police officer H.A. for causing the death of Cihan Can was started on February 10, 2025, after the judicial fine of 21.200 Turkish Liras imposed on the charge of ‘causing death by negligence’ by Diyarbakır Penal Court of First Instance No 11 was reversed by Diyarbakır Regional Court of Appeals. The court adjourned the hearing to April 30, 2025
Cihan Can died due to being hit by a police car driven by H.A. on Turgut Özal Boulevard in Diyarbakır on December 27, 2019.

On February 10, 2025, it is learned from news coverage of February 10, 2025 that Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office initiated an investigation on 38th Ordinary Assembly of Republican People’s Party (CHP) held on November 4 – 5, 2023, where Özgür Özel was elected as chairman, and that former CHP chair Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and Akif Hamzaçebi were called to testify as witnesses through the investigation.

On February 11, 2025, 13 people, including some who were dismissed from military schools, were detained in operations conducted in 7 cities (Izmir, Istanbul, Ankara, Balıkesir, Hatay, Bursa and Kırıkkale) through an Izmir based investigation.
