It is learned from the news coverage of April 9, 2023 that, 3 HPG militants died in a clash between security forces and HPG militants in the rural areas of Hakkari on March 29, 2023.

It is learned that a prisoner named Ufuk Akçekaya died in the single ward that he was kept in Izmir Kırıklar F Type Prison No. 2 on April 10, 2023. It is claimed in the news reports that Ufuk Akçekaya has killed himself.

It is learned from the news coverage of April 11, 2023 that, a prisoner named Hüseyin Karaoğlan was kept in a solitary cell in Ankara Sincan F Type Prison No. 1 where he was transferred on March 21, 2023, and was taken out only an hour a day, and was not given television and radio.

It is learned that a person named Faruk İverendi was subjected to torture and ill-treatment during a house raid in Cizre district of Şırnak on April 11, 2023. Faruk İverendi’s mother stated the following to the press: “They made our children lay down on the floor. They stepped on my son’s back and kicked him. There were bruises on my son’s body. They put us in a room and yelled at us.”

The trial of the case against Ismail Çoban, former editor in chief of Azadiya Welat newspaper which was closed down by a state of emergency decree, is held at Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court No. 5 on April 11, 2023. İsmail Çoban did not join the trial. The prosecutor declared legal opinion on the case and demanded sentence for İsmail Çoban on the charge of ‘making propaganda for an illegal organisation’. The court adjourned the trial to April 18, 2023.

The trial of the case against Ileri News portal executive editor İzel Sezer and editor-in-chief Batuhan Batan, upon the complaint of the President’s former lawyer Mustafa Doğan İnal over the news report titled “Journalism was again on trial”, is held at Istanbul Penal Court of First Instance No. 25 on April 11, 2023. The indictment demands sentence for the journalists on the charges of ‘insult’ and ‘defamation’. The court adjourned the trial to October 17, 2023.

The first trial of the case against the Pir Sultan Abdal Cultural Association (PSAKD) former chair Gani Kaplan, on the charge of ‘making propaganda for an illegal organisation’, on the grounds of a speech he made at a commemoration event and his social media posts, is held at Ankara Heavy Penal Court No. 18 on April 11, 2023. After defence hearings the court decided to acquit Gani Kaplan.

The trial of the case against the Labour Party Istanbul provincial chair Sema Barbaros and Rüya Kurtuluş and Feride Eralp, on the grounds of participating in the forum talk held in Beşiktaş about the Istanbul Convention, is held at Istanbul Penal Court of First Instance No. 47 on April 11, 2023. After defence hearings the court adjourned the trial to October 12, 2023.

The final trial of the case against a person named D. C. A., who was detained while distributing leaflets of 8 March International Women’s Day in Izmir on February 21, 2022 and was 17 years old back then, is held at Izmir Juvenile Court No. 4 on the grounds of ‘violating the law on Meetings and Demonstrations’ on April 11, 2023. The court decided to acquit D. C. A.

It is learned that a person named Ganivar Eye was subjected to the violence of the police for rejecting to show identity card during the opening of the electoral campaign office of the Green Left Party (YSP) in Osmaniye on April 9, 2023 and was detained by the police on April 10, 2023.
The police used pepper spray and pressurized water to intervene the groups leaving the opening of the YSP electoral campaign office in Yüksekova district of Hakkari on April 10, 2023. The number of detained people could not be learned.
It is learned that a member of the Republican People’s Party, trainee lawyer İ. D., who was labelling the products at a market with the sticker reading “Do you find this product expensive? Thanks to Erdoğan” is detained in Bursa on April 11, 2023.
It is learned that a group attacked on the campaign stand of the IYI Party in Esenler district of Istanbul on April 11, 2023, and that nobody was injured in the attack.
It is learned that the campaign office of CHP in Konak district of Izmir was attacked by stones on April 11, 2023. It is reported that 1 person was detained in relation to the attack.
It is learned that 1 of 4 people who were detained in relation to the armed attack on the provincial office of CHP in Istanbul on April 6, 2023 was released after statement procedures, and 3 of them were released by the court on judicial control conditions on April 11, 2023.

The Minister of Family and Social Services made a statement on April 10, 2023 and declared that a total of 1,915 unaccompanied children were registered in the system, 1,788 of them were identified and given to their families, 40 children were in the hospital, 79 children were in the institutions of the ministry, and 22 children could not be identified.

It is learned that 9 people were detained in operations covering 7 cities through an Istanbul based investigation.
