(05/073) May 14, 2023 General Elections…

It is learned that 1 child attacked the vehicle of the Republican People’s Party (CHP) in Sakarya with stones on May 9, 2023. The child who was detained is released on the same day.

It is learned that 3 people were detained while distributing the book “Gokturks” written by Sinan Ateş, former Greywolves chair who was killed in Ankara, in Mustafakemalpaşa district of Bursa on May 9, 2023 and they were released by the court on judicial control conditions on the same day.

It is learned that 3 people were injured as a result of the attack on CHP members who were distributing leaflets in Antep on May 9, 2023.

(05/074) Meeting Request with Abdullah Öcalan Not Responded…

It is learned that the appeal made on May 9, 2023 to chief public prosecutor’s office in Bursa by the lawyers of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, in order to visit him was not responded.

(05/075) Investigation Against Journalist…

It is learned from the news coverage of May 9, 2023 that, an investigation was launched against journalist Şule Aydın, on the grounds of insulting the President on social media and that a detention warrant was issued through the investigation.

(05/076) Police Officer on Trial…

The trial of the case against police officer A. D. regarding death of Zuhal Ebrar Yıldız (18) by police fire which was opened for a disobedience to stop warning, in Beyoğlu district of Istanbul on December 12, 2022; is held at Istanbul Bakırköy Penal Court of First Instance No. 45 on May 9, 2023. The indictment demands sentence for the defendant police officer on the charge of ‘killing with conscience negligence’. The arrested police officer A. D. attended the trial. After defence hearings the court decided to have a crime scene exploration on May 22, 2023, to continue detention of the police officer and adjourned the trial.

(05/077) The Taksim Bomb Attack Case…

The trial of the case against 36 people, 27 of whom are arrested, regarding the bomb attack that took place in Taksim, in Beyoğlu district of Istanbul on November 13, 2022 that killed 6 people and injured 99, is held at Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No. 13 on May 9, 2023. After defence hearings the court decided to continue the detention of 27 people and adjourned the trial to July 17, 2023.

(05/078) Cancelled Festival in Ankara…

It is learned from the news coverage of May 9, 2023 that, the Spring Festival of the students at the Middle East Technical University was cancelled by the rector.
