YPS General Coordination announced on 9 May 2016 that YPS member Abdulselam Dursun (Botan Kato) was killed during the armed clashes in Nusaybin district of Mardin.

According to the news appeared in the press on 9 May 2016, the bodies of 17 YPS members who were killed during the armed clashes in Yüksekova district of Hakkari and transferred to Erzurum for identification were reportedly buried on order of the Governorate on the grounds that the bodies were not identified.

5 persons including Dicle News Agency (DİHA) correspondent Abdulkadir Turay who were detained during house raids in Savur district of Mardin were arrested on 9 May 2016 on the allegations of “aiding an illegal organisation”.
Şükrü Salhan and Faysal Yaray who were among 8 persons detained during the house raids conducted in Adana were arrested on 9 May 2016 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”.
16 persons who were detained during the operations conducted in Diyarbakır were arrested on 9 May 2016 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”. Abdullah Ediş who was among 6 persons detained in Hakkari, İbrahim Şaman and Salih Karaviş who were detained in İdil district of Şırnak were also arrested on 9 May 2016 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”.
The police conducted operations against university students in Bitlis and detained 16 persons in connection with a “Patriotic Revolutionary Youth Movement (YDG-H) Investigation”.
