It is learned from the news coverage of June 9, 2022 that, 3 militants died in operations between Turkish Armed Forces units and HPG militants in Zap area of the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government between May 3 and 13, 2022.

Journalist Barış Pehlivan declared on June 9, 2022 and stated that he was threatened by people alleged to be related to Fırat Delibaş, whose name was mentioned in his article titled “Will Soylu make a voice”.

It is learned from the news coverage of June 9, 2022 that, an ill prisoner in Kayseri T Type Prison No 1 was not taken to the dentist.
(06/119) Police Intervention to a Protest in Ankara…
The police intervened in the press statement made about the announced inflation rates, organized by the United Confederation of Public Employees Trade Unions (Birleşik Kamu-İş) on June 9, 2022 in front of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) building in Çankaya district of Ankara, and detained the confederation chair Mehmet Balık, secretary general Mücahit Dede, supervisory board chair Suat Sadış, and the chairs of Ankara Branch No. 3 and Denizli Branch.
It is learned that Mücahit Dede had a heart attack during police intervention. It is reported that the police prevented journalists from recording.
Detained 5 people are released the same day.

The police intervened the press declaration that was to be held outside of Istanbul Bakırköy Heavy Penal Court No 23 on June 9, 2022 before the trial of the case regarding murder of a person named Eren Yılmaz by alleged drug dealers, and detained 12 people using physical violence.

The police intervened the justice watch for ill prisoners, held outside of Çağlayan Courthouse in Istanbul on June 9, 2022 and detained 4 people (Fince Akman, Cemile Karakaş, Meryem Güneş, Aygül Sincar). It is reported that the police prevented journalists from recording. Detained people are released the same day.

The police intervened the press declaration of Şişli Municipality workers in front of the Republican People’s Party (CHP) in Ankara on June 9, 2022 and forced people away from the building by using physical violence.
(06/123) Detained Political Party and Association Executives, and Other People in Tekirdağ…
On June 3, 2022, 39 people including the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), the Green Left Party, the Peoples’ Democratic Congress (HDK), and the Marmara Association for Solidarity with the Families of Prisoners (MATUHAY-DER) members and executives were detained through an Tekirdağ based investigation. 11 of them are detained by the court on the charges of ‘being an illegal organisation member’ and ‘making propaganda for an illegal organisation’ on June 9, 2022.
Arrested people are: Mercan Hantekin, Gülcan Çiğdemli, Gizem Kuzuk, Hilal Civil Bakır, Mehmet Mermer, Selahattin Atay, Mehmet Ali Köseoğlu, Eyüp Ülgen, Hasan Hergül, Mehmet Bozkur, Evin Filiz.
8 of the detainees have been arrested earlier while 6 people have been released on judicial control conditions. It is learned that 14 people are still under custody. It is reported that Sadi Özdemir, who was among those arrested earlier, is 98% disabled and is dependent on an oxygen cylinder.

The trial of the case against Beycan Taşkıran, deputy co-chair of the Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) is held at Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court No 5 on June 9, 2022. The indictment demands sentence for Beycan Taşkıran on the charge of ‘being an illegal organisation member’. The court adjourned the trial to November 10, 2022.

The trial of the case against 46 journalists, known as “KCK Press Case” is held at Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No 3 on June 9, 2022. The court adjourned the trial to November 1, 2022.
(06/126) Former Chief of Staff on Trial…
The trial of the case against the former Chief of General Staff İlker Başbuğ, for his expressions in an interview is held at Istanbul penal Court of First Instance No 2 on June 9, 2022. The prosecutor declared legal opinion on the case and demanded jail sentence of 1 year to 3 years for İlker Başbuğ on the charge of “publicly inciting the people to hatred and hostility”. The court rejected the request of 166 members of the Justice and Abolition Party (AKP) to intervene in the case and adjourned the trial to November 22, 2022.

The retrial of the case against Banu Özdemir, former provincial deputy chair of Republican People’s party (CHP) in Izmir, for her social media posts about the song “Bella Ciao” heard from mosques in several districts of Izmir, is held at Izmir Penal Court of First Instance No 50 on June 9, 2022. After defence hearings the court adjourned the trial. Izmir Regional Court has overturned the local court’s verdict of acquittal.
