The Ministry of National Defence declared that 1 soldier (Adil Yılmaz) died due to a weapon accident in Şırnak on June 9, 2021.
(06/103) Child Wounded Due to Explosion in Diyarbakır…
It is learned that a 14-year-old child (U. B.) got wounded due to explosion of an unknown material that he found near the military zone in Feridon neighbourhood of Silvan district of Diyarbakır on June 9, 2021; and that he was taken to Gazi Yaşargil Research and Training Hospital.
(06/104) Threat to HDP Member in Mardin…
It is learned from the news coverage of June 9, 2021 that, Sait Sırdaş, a member of Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Youth Assembly in Kızıltepe district of Mardin, was threatened by persons claiming themselves as police officers, saying “You will be in trouble”; because he did not accept to be a police informant.
(06/105) Police Intervention to a Protest in Istanbul…
The police intervened the press declaration at Taksim Square of Istanbul on June 9, 2021, about the claims that Sedat Peker asserted in his videos, and detained 26 people by using physical violence. Detained people are released after statement procedures on the same day.
(06/106) Gendarmerie Intervention to a Protest in Maraş…
It is learned that the gendarmerie used pepper spray to intervened the residents of Çöçelli village of Maraş, who were protesting biomass power plant project, on June 9, 2021. It is learned that nobody was detained.
(06/107) Detained HDP Members and Executives in Istanbul…
On June 9, 2021, at least 4 members and executives of HDP are detained in house raids in Istanbul. It is learned that a detention warrant is issued for 12 people.
Detained people are: HDP’s provincial executives Fener Günana and Ahmet Subaşı, HDP’s Beyoğlu district co-chair Mehmet Sait Bor and HDP employee Mustafa Turgut.

On June 9, 2021, 5 people are detained in house raids in Cizre district of Şırnak. Some of the detained people are: Serhat İnanç, Mustafa Ekren, Erdal Çağınni, Ramazan Türel.
(06/109) Journalist on Trial in Diyarbakır…
The trial of the case against Nurcan Kaya, a writer of Artı Gerçek news portal, is held at Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court No 9 on June 9, 2021.
The indictment demands sentence for Nurcan Kaya on the charge of ‘successively making propaganda for an illegal organisation’, in her social media posts.
The court adjourned the trial to September 27, 2021.

The trial of the case against journalist Nurcan Yalçın, through an investigation against Rosa Women’s Association, is held at Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court No 9 on June 9, 2021.
The indictment demands sentence for Nurcan Yalçın on the charges of ‘being an illegal organisation member’ and ‘making propaganda for an illegal organisation’.
The court adjourned the trial to September 29, 2021.
(06/111) Association Executive on Trial in Diyarbakır…
The trial of the case against Şeyhmus Karadağ, co-chair of MEBYA-DER (Association of People Lost Their Relatives in the Cradle of Civilizations), is held at Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court No 10 on June 9, 2021.
Şeyhmus Karadağ attended the trial to make his defence statements. The court decided to release Şeyhmus Karadağ and adjourned the trial to November 5, 2021.
(06/112) 10 October 10 – Ankara Massacre Case…
The trial of the case against Erman Ekici and 16 fugitive defendants, for October 10 – Ankara Massacre, is held at Ankara Heavy Penal Court No 4 on June 9, 2021.
It is learned that wife of one fugitive (Savaş Yıldız) is heard as witness at the trial. The court adjourned the trial to September 3, 2021.
19 defendants have been sentenced to jail sentences on August 3, 2018, at the final trial of the case on October 10 – Ankara Massacre and the case against 16 fugitives was separated.

It is learned that 3 social media posts of Sedat Peker are banned to access on the grounds of violation of personal rights, by Ankara Penal Court of Peace No 6 on June 8, 2021.
(06/114) Covid-19 Pandemic…
The Ministry of Health declared that 87 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and 558 new Covid-19 ill patients were diagnosed on June 9, 2021. It is also declared that the daily number of Covid-19 cases is 6,454.
The death toll from Covid-19 in Turkey increased to 48,428 and total number of confirmed ill patients is 5,306,690 as of June 9, 2021.
