(09/001) Torture and Ill-Treatment in Prison…

It is learned from the news coverage of August 31, 2021 that, İsmail Tüzün, a prisoner kept in Adana Kürkçüler F Type Prison was not allowed, on the grounds of security reasons, to attend his father’s funeral who lost his life on August 30, 2021.

(09/002) Meeting Request with Abdullah Öcalan Not Responded…

It is learned that the appeal made on August 31, 2021 to chief public prosecutor’s office in Bursa by PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan’s lawyers in order to visit their client was not responded.

(09/003) Ban of 1 September International Day of Peace Events…

Ankara Governorate’s Office did not give permission for the international day of peace meeting which was to be held on September 2, 2021.

(09/004) Detained People in Diyarbakır…

It is learned that 2 of 8 people (Ubeydullah Narin and Saliha Narin) who were detained by the gendarmerie in Yazı rural neighbourhood of Kocaköy district of Diyarbakır on August 28, 2021 are released on August 31, 2021. It is learned that the detention period for 6 people is extended for 4 more days.

(09/005) Ban of Events in Eskişehir, Van and Bakırköy…

Eskişehir Governorate made a declaration on August 31, 2021 and announced that, all gatherings and attempts to gather, marches, sit-in protests, opening stands and tents, distributing leaflets, hanging posters and banners and any kind of protests are banned for 15 days as of September 1, 2021.

Bakırköy Sub-Governorate made a declaration on August 31, 2021 and announced that, all meetings and demonstrations, press declarations, sit-in protests, and so an are banned for 15 days as of September 2, 2021.

Van Governorate made a declaration on August 31, 2021 and announced that, all open-door meetings and demonstrations are banned for 15 days as of September 1, 2021. It is also announced that press declarations, sit-in protests, opening stands and tents, collecting petitions, distributing leaflets and so on will be subjected to the local authority’s permission. All events are banned in Van for 1759 days since November 21, 2016.

(09/006) Covid-19 Pandemic…

The Ministry of Health declared that 252 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and the daily number of Covid-19 cases is 21,893 as of August 31, 2021.

The death toll from Covid-19 in Turkey increased to 56,710 and total number of confirmed ill patients is 6,388,331 as of August 31, 2021.
