(11/001) Torture and Ill-Treatment in Prison…
It is learned from the news coverage of October 31, 2022 that, 5 journalists (Diren Yurtsever, Berivan Altan, Ceylan Şahinli, Habibe Eren and Öznur Değer) who were arrested on October 29, 2022 through the Ankara based investigation against Mezopotamya News Agency and Jinnews Agency reporters, were subjected to strip search and forced to stand up in military order in Ankara Sincan Women’s Prison and they were given only one and a half litres of water a day.
It is learned from the news coverage of October 31, 2022 that, Hasan Kılıç, a prisoner İn Kayseri Bünyan T Type Prison No. 2 was subjected to a disciplinary proceeding on the grounds of ‘making propaganda for an illegal organisation’ in a letter he wrote in Kurdish, and that he was given the penalty of 11 days of solitary confinement.
(11/002) Police Intervention to a Protest in Izmir…
The police intervened in the press declaration regarding arrest of the Turkish Medical Association (TMA) chair and the HRFT executive board member Professor Şebnem Korur Fincancı and the death of workers in a mine explosion in Bartın, organized by the youth organisations in front of Türkan Saylan Cultural Center on October 31, 2022; and detained 23 people by using physical violence. Detained people are released after statement procedures on the same day.

The police intervened the press declaration which was made within the scope of “I Want My Job Back Protest” in front of Human Rights Monument in Yüksel Street on October 31, 2022 and forced people away from the monument by using physical violence.

Writer Hogir Berbir is detained at Çınar District Security Directorate where he went to make a criminal complaint on October 31, 2022. The reason for detention is unknown.
(11/005) Detained People in Şırnak…
10 of 15 people (Dicle Yıldızgörer, Hozan Gökalp, Tatar Gökalp, Gökhan Geçgel, Burhan Macak, Ahmet Türüg, Ceger Cagini, Sabri Ormanlı, Zeynep Mete and 1 person whose name could not be learned) who were detained in house raids in Cizre district of Şırnak on October 29, 2022, are released by the court on judicial control conditions on October 31, 2022. It is learned that 5 people are still under custody.
(11/006) Police Officer on Trial in Diyarbakır…
The trial of the case against police officer H. A., for causing death of Cihan Can, is held at Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court No. 11 on October 31, 2022.
The defendant police officer did not attend the trial. It is learned that there was no response to the request on May 23, 2022, for correction regarding the report sent by the Forensic Medicine Institute. The court adjourned the trial to December 26, 2022.

It is learned that the news reports about a relative of the Interior Minister, published on https://artigercek.com, https://www.milligazete.com.tr, https://www.sozcu.com.tr websites are banned to access by the Access Providers Association on October 18, 2022.
It is learned that the news reports about a statement of Sedat Peker, published on https://www.yenicaggazetesi.com.tr, https://www.diken.com.tr, https://halktv.com.tr, https://www.yeniakit.com.tr websites and a name that appears in the announcements of Istanbul Governorate’s Office and Çekmeköy District Governorate’s Office are ruled to be deleted on the grounds of violation of personal rights by Istanbul Anadolu Penal Court of Peace No. 2 on October 19, 2022.
It is learned that the news reports about Mehmet Cengiz, published on https://artigercek.com, https://haberalternatif.com, https://www.gercekgundem.com websites are banned to access by the Access Providers Association on October 20, 2022.
It is learned that the news reports about Counsellor to the President, published on https://www.sozcu.com.tr, https://www.cumhuriyet.com.tr, https://www.gazeteduvar.com.tr websites are banned to access on the grounds of violation of personal rights by Istanbul Anadolu Penal Court of peace No. 4 on October 24, 2022.
(11/008) Detentions and Arrests in Alleged Link to Coup Attempt…
It is learned that 22 people are detained in operations covering 16 cities through an Ankara based investigation on November 1, 2022.
