(07/001) Inmate Who Died in Prison…

According to news reports published on June 29, 2026, it was learned that Arda Küçükyetim, an inmate who had been sentenced to 75 years and 5 months in prison following a 2024 incident in Eskişehir in which he stabbed five people, had died in the prison where he was being held in Eskişehir. The reports claim that the prisoner died as a result of suicide.

(007/002) Refugee/Migrant Who Died in Muğla…

According to news reports published on July 1, 2026, one refugee died and two others went missing after a boat carrying refugees/migrants capsized off the coast of Marmaris, Muğla.

(07/003) The Ankara Train Station Massacre Trial…

On October 10, 2015, an ISIS-orchestrated suicide bombing attack during the Peace Rally in Ankara resulted in the deaths of 103 people. The trial of five fugitive defendants in this case, which was filed at the Ankara Heavy Penal Court No. 26, resumed on June 30, 2026. The court adjourned the hearing until September 25, 2026.

(07/004) Interventions, Detentions, and Bans Related to NATO Summit Protests…

Three members of the Student Activity group were detained on July 1, 2026, during home raids in Istanbul on the grounds that they had participated in a protest held in front of the TEKNOFEST Istanbul Coordination Office.

The governorates of Bolu, Konya, and Adana banned all demonstrations and events for 10 days between July 1 and 10, 2026; the Elazığ Governorate banned them for 12 days between June 29 and July 12; and the Antalya Governorate banned them for 9 days between July 1 and 9.

(07/005) Association Member Detained in Ankara…

Şebnem Ece Elmas, a member of the Federation of Socialist Youth Associations (SGDF), who was detained on June 28, 2026, at the Ankara Train Station on the grounds that there was an arrest warrant against her, was arrested on June 30, 2026, by the magistrate’s court to which she was referred.

(07/006) LGBT+ Activist on Trial in Mersin…

According to news reports on June 30, 2026, the 2nd Criminal Chamber of the Adana Regional Court of Appeal ruled on the appeal filed by LGBT+ activist Aytok Zozan Viyan regarding the 1-year, 2-month prison sentence imposed on her by the Mersin Criminal Court of First Instance No. 26 on charges of “insulting the President,” based on her social media posts. It was reported that the Criminal Chamber No. 2 had ruled on the appeal regarding the 1-year, 2-month prison sentence imposed for the crime of “insulting the President.” It was reported that the Criminal Chamber No. 2 overturned the sentence and acquitted Aytok Zozan Viyan.

(07/007) Suspended Mayor…

İsmail Yetişkin, the mayor of Seferihisar district in İzmir, who was arrested on June 30, 2026, was suspended from office by the Ministry of the Interior on the same day.

(07/008) Provinces Where Protests and Events Are Banned…

In a statement issued on June 29, 2026, the Elazığ Governor’s Office announced that within the province’s borders, demonstrations, rallies in open and closed spaces, press conferences, sit-ins, setting up booths, signature campaigns, hanging banners, setting up tents, lighting torches, distributing flyers/statements/brochures, and similar actions and events within the province’s borders for a period of 14 days, from 00:01 on June 29, 2026, to 23:59 on July 12, 2026.

In a statement issued on June 30, 2026, the Bolu Governor’s Office announced that within the province’s borders, marches, press conferences, gatherings in open or enclosed spaces, protests, setting up tents, sit-ins, setting up booths, hunger strikes, memorial ceremonies, the display of posters, banners, and signs, the distribution of flyers and leaflets, signature campaigns, and similar actions and events within the province’s borders for a period of 10 days, from 8:00 a.m. on July 1, 2026, to 11:59 p.m. on July 10, 2026.

In a statement issued on June 30, 2026, the Adana Governor’s Office announced that within the province’s borders, open-air or indoor gatherings, marches, press conferences, hunger strikes, sit-ins, setting up booths or tents, distributing leaflets, posting posters, graffiti, and similar actions and activities within the province’s borders for a period of 10 days, from 8:00 a.m. on July 1, 2026, to 11:59 p.m. on July 10, 2026.

In a statement issued on June 30, 2026, the Konya Governor’s Office announced a ban on gatherings, meetings, and protest marches; press conferences; hunger strikes; sit-ins; protests; rallies; setting up booths; setting up tents, distributing flyers/statements/brochures, hanging posters and banners, and similar actions and activities within the province’s borders for a period of 10 days, from 8:00 a.m. on July 1, 2026, to 11:59 p.m. on July 10, 2026.

In a statement issued on June 30, 2026, the Antalya Governor’s Office announced that within the province’s borders, marches, press conferences, sit-ins, setting up booths or tents, signature campaigns, forming human chains, laying wreaths, posting stickers, distributing brochures, hanging posters or banners, protests, and similar actions and events within the province’s borders for a period of 9 days, from 8:00 a.m. on July 1, 2026, to 11:59 p.m. on July 9, 2026.

(07/009) Social Media Accounts Subject to Access Restrictions…

It has been reported that access to Kaos GL’s Facebook and X social media accounts has been restricted pursuant to a June 26, 2026, decision by the Istanbul 12th Criminal Court of Peace, on the grounds of protecting national security and public order.

According to news reports published on June 30, 2026, the X social media account belonging to visual communication designer Mahir Akkoyun was blocked on the grounds of protecting national security and public order.

According to news reports published on June 30, 2026, it was learned that access to the X social media accounts of Trans Pride, Ankara Pride, Istanbul Pride, and Izmir Pride was blocked on the grounds of protecting national security and public order.
