(12/001) Tahir Elçi Murdered…
The investigation concerning the killing of Tahir Elçi is ongoing. He was shot to death on 28 November 2015 when an armed clash broke out in Sur district of Diyarbakır.
According to the news appeared in the press, the bullet which killed Tahir Elçi was found during the 3rd crime scene investigation and reportedly sent to Forensic Institute on 2 December 2015.
Patriotic Revolutionary Youth Movement (YDG-H) announced that 2 persons recorded during the incident were members of the YDG-H. According to the announcement, members of the YDG-H entered the street where the press announcement was held by coincidence.
(12/002) Curfew in Sur…
Sub-Governorate of Sur district in Diyarbakır declared curfew on 2 December 2015 in 6 quarters of the district. After the killing of Tahir Elçi, curfew was declared in 15 quarters of the district. Security Forces blockaded 6 quarters and conducted operations.
People gathered on Dağkapı Square to protest in the blockade and curfew. Güler Eroğlu allegedly opened fire against security forces when the police wanted to body search on suspicion. Güler Eroğlu was shot to death by the police when he tried to escape.
Cekvar Çubuk (16) was reportedly shot to death when the police opened fire against the crowd gathered on Dağkapı Square. Security Forces alleged that he was shot during an operation conducted against the barricades in the district.
5 persons were heavily wounded when the police opened fire against the protesters.
(12/003) Curfew in Derik…
The curfew in Derik district of Mardin reached its 8th day as of 3 December 2015.
Special Forces conducted operations on 1 December 2015 in Cevizpınar, Dağ, Küçükpınar, Zeytinpınar and Kale quarters. Fethi Özyıldız was shot and heavly wounded when he was sitting in the garden of his house.
3 persons were detained during the house raids conducted on 2 December 2015.
Gendarmerie soldiers attacked the members of Derik Cultural Associations when they wanted to enter the district to protest in the curfew. 5 persons were detained during the intervention.

Police officer Mustafa Yavaş who was heavily wounded when a police vehicle was attacked on 10 November 2015 in Yüksekova district of Hakkari died on 1 December 2015 in the hospital in Ankara.
7 militants were allegedly killed during the operations conducted after an attack against a military vehicle with a rocket launcher on 30 November 2015 in Derik district of Mardin where curfew was declared recently.
A soldier died, 5 soldiers and 2 civilians were wounded when a bomb exploded during the passage of military vehicle on 2 December 2015 in Meydanbaşı quarter of Mardin.
Governorate of Hakkari announced that several regions in Yüksekova, Şemdinli and Çukurca districts of the province were decided to be temporary security zones for 15 days until 19 December 2015. Entrance of civilians to the security zones was also banned.

Süleyman Kurtoğlu was shot and wounded when the police opened fire during the operations conducted on 1 December 2015 in Yafes quarter of Cizre district in Şırnak.
(12/006) Explosion in İstanbul…
A bomb exploded on 1 December 2015 on an overpass in Bayrampaşa district of İstanbul. The target of the bomb was reportedly a police bus and the driver of another vehicle was wounded during the explosion.
(12/007) Curfew in Nusaybin…
The curfew in the Abdülkadirpaşa, Fırat, Dicle and Yenişehir quarters of Nusaybin district in Mardin reached its 5th day as of 3 December 2015.
Owner of the Nuasybin Haber news portal Zeki Karakuş, Bayram Demir, Tahir Avcı who were among 4 persons detained after the declaration of curfew were arrested on 1 December 2015 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation” and “making propaganda of an illegal organisation”.

Worker’s Health and Job Safety Assembly announced on 2 December 2015 that at least 131 workers died in November 2015 during work accidents due to untaken security measures. At least 1593 workers died in first 11 months of 2015.
(12/009) Journalist on Trial on the allegations of insulting the State President…
Çağlayan (İstanbul) Penal Court of First Instance No 2 started on 1 December 2015 to hear the case against Berkant Gültekin, editor-in-chief of the daily Birgün, managing director of the paper Can Uğur and editorial consultant Barış İnce launched for the headline “Thief and Murderer Erdoğan” of the issue of the paper on 17 February 2015. The indictment wants the defendants to be sentenced according tot the Article 299 TPC for “insulting the State President”.
After the identification and first testimonies of the defendants, the court adjourned the hearing to 10 December 2015.

Aydın Penal Court of First Instance No 3 continued on 1 December 2015 to hear the case against the physician Bilgin Çiftçi launched for sharing a photo on social media showing the resemblance of State President Recep Tayyip ERdoğan to Lord of the Rings character Gollum.
The indictment wants the defendant to be sentenced according tot the Article 299 TPC for “insulting the State President”. The court decided to appoint an expert to determine whether Gollum was a bad character in the novel and adjourned the hearing to a later date. After the administrative investigation, Bilgin Çiftçi was recalled.
(12/011) Protesters Convicted in Muş…
Bulanık (Muş) Penal Court of First Instance concluded on 2 December 2015 to hear the case against 17persons launched after a protest staged on 15 December 2015 in Bulanık district of Muş.
After the final defence, the court sentenced 16 defendants including Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Bulanık Co-Chair Derar Koca and Bulanık Co-Mayor Rahmi Çelik to 2 years and 3 months’ imprisonment for “violating the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations”. The court also sentenced the defendant Arafat Güllü to 1 year and 6 months’ imprisonment for the same reason.
(12/012) Newroz Celebrations Organising Committee Convicted in Muş…
Bulanık (Muş) Penal Court of First Instance concluded on 2 December 2015 to hear the case against 7 members of the organising committee of the Newroz celebrations organised on 20 March 2015 in Bulanık district of Muş. One of the defendants was remanded in this case and the case was launched in connection with the slogans shouted during the celebrations.
The court sentenced 6 defendants including the remanded defendant to 1 year and 3 months’ imprisonment for “violating the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations”. The court also sentenced the defendant Muhammet Fatih Karaçelik to 1 year and 15 days’ imprisonment for the same reason.

Batman Heavy Penal Court No 2 continued on 1 December 2015 to hear the KCk case launched against 29 persons. The court adjourned the hearing to 21 January 2015 to appoint a interpreter when the defendants wanted to testify in Kurdish.
(12/014) Operations throughout Turkey…
Hüseyin Taşlık (40) who was detained during a house raid in Bismil district of Dİyarbakır was arrested on 2 December 2015 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”.
Security forces conducted house raids on 1 December 2015 in Taşlıçay district of Ağrı, Baykan district of Siirt, and Miryanis village of Bitlis. 9 persons were detained during the operations.
Nizam Müsünlü and his son Çetin Müsünlü, Celal İşçen (33), Orhan Altintaş (23), Azad Altintaş (21) and İ.Ç. (17) who were among the detainees were arrested on 2 December 2015 on the allegations of “aiding and abetting an illegal organisation”.
