(12/001) Operations and Attacks in Southeast…

It is learned from the news coverage of November 30, 2020 that, 1 village guard (Ömer Atak) on duty at a security tower on Şırnak-Cizre roadway, died because of his gun’s accidental firing.

It is learned from the news coverage of November 30, 2020 that 2 militants died in a clash between security forces and HPG militants in rural areas of Gürpınar district of Van on October 31, 2020.

(12/002) Detained Executive of Chamber of Architects and Other People in Diyarbakır…

On November 27, 2020, 8 people including Aziz Yağmur executive board member of Chamber of Architects of Turkey Diyarbakır branch were detained in house raids in Diyarbakır. 1 person (Ahmet Eliçin) is arrested by the court on the charge of ‘being an illegal organisation member’ on November 30, 2020. 7 people Eyyüp Turhan, Ferit Ekinci, Aziz Yağmur, Sabri Özdemir, Ercan Kaysı and Agit Kaçar on judicial control conditions and Mehmet Yalçın) are released.

(12/003) Newspaper Employee on Trial in Diyarbakır…

The final trial of the case against Velat Öztekin, former employee of Azadiya Welat newspaper which was closed down by a state of emergency decree, is held at Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court No 9 on November 30, 2020. The court sentenced Velat Öztekin to 1 year 6 months and 22 days on the charge of ‘making propaganda for an illegal organisation’, on the grounds of his social media posts.

(12/004) Rosa Women’s Association Member on Trial…

The trial of the case against Emine Esmer, a member of Rosa Women’s Association, is held at Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court No 9 on November 30, 2020.

The indictment demands sentence for Emine Esmer on the charge of ‘being an illegal organisation member’.

The court adjourned the trial to February 17, 2021.

(12/005) People on Trial for Assault to CHP Chair in Ankara…

The first trial of the case against 36 people, for the assault against Republican People’s Party (CHP) chair Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, is held at Çubuk Penal Court of First Instance No 2 on November 30, 2020. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu was assaulted by a group during a soldier’s funeral ceremony in Çubuk district of Ankara.

The court rejected to rule for non-jurisdiction decision as it was demanded by Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu’s lawyers and adjourned the trial to March 1, 2021.

It is learned that the declaration of Nasuh Mahruki, chair of Search and Rescue Foundation (AKUT) regarding the Ministry of Interior Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) and Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) which was published on https://tele1.com.tr/, https://www.gercekgundem.com/, https://abcgazetesi.com/ websites are banned to access on the grounds of violation of personal rights, by Istanbul Penal Court of Peace No 6 on November 13, 2020.

It is learned that the news reports about a holding company which were published on https://www.sabah.com.tr/, https://www.hurriyet.com.tr/, https://www.posta.com.tr/, https://www.tv100.com/, https://www.milliyet.com.tr/, https://www.takvim.com.tr/, https://www.haber7.com/ websites are banned to access by Bursa Penal Court of Peace No 3 on November 27, 2020.

(12/007) Covid-19 Pandemic…

The Ministry of Health declared that 188 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and 6,514 new Covid-19 ill patients were diagnosed on November 30, 2020. It is also declared that the daily number of Covid-19 case is 31,219.

The death toll from Covid-19 in Turkey increased to 13,746 and total number of confirmed ill patients is 500,865 as of November 30, 2020.

It is learned that 7 health workers (veterinary technician Ahmet Yiğit in Bursa, administrative staff Ferdane Bilgin in Hatay, delivery nurse Selver Kuşçu Ünal in Konya, healthcare technician Ahmet Temir in Antep, pharmacy technician Hayri Tuna in Istanbul, doctor Gökhan Ercan in Adana, pharmacist Nizam Çileli in Manisa) died from Covid-19 on November 30, 2020.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made a declaration on November 30, 2020 and announced that a general curfew will be applied every weeknight from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., and a weekend-long curfew will be applied from Friday 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday. It is also stated that people under the age of 20 and over the age of 65 will be barred from using public transportation, apart from exceptional conditions stated in the declaration.
