(01/127) Curfew in Cizre…
The curfew in Cizre district of Şırnak reached its 44th day as of 25 January 2016.
Helin Öncü (20) was shot and heavily wounded during the operations conducted by Security Forces on 21January 2016 in Cudi quarter. ECtHR took interlocutory injunction decision concerning the condition of Helin Öncü.
3 women who wanted to take Helin Öncü were also wounded when opened fire. After the decision of ECtHR, Helin Öncü was hospitalised.
Cihan Karaman was heavily wounded with shrapnel on 22 January 2016 in Cudi quarter. When the ambulance was not allowed to enter the quarter, he had to walk about 2 km to reach an ambulance. But he had to get back due to heavy bombings in the quarter. ECtHR also took interlocutory injunction decision concerning the condition of Cihan Karaman, but he died on 23 January 2016.
28 persons who allegedly had a meeting on 23 January 2016 in a house on Caferi Sadık street in Cudi quarter were wounded when the house was shot by a tank. According to the news, some of the persons were heavily wounded and 1 person died on 24 January 2016. The bodies of Cihan Kahraman and another person were also in the same house.
The body of an unidentified male was found on 24 January 2016 in Dicle quarter. Bodies of 2 males were also found in Dağkapı quarter on the same day. The bodies were taken to Cizre State Hospital.

The blockade and operations in Sur district of Diyarbakır reached its 46th day as of 25 January 2016.
On 23 January 2016, 2nd floor of a building was shot with a grenade launcher in Savaş quarter. The bomb started fire in the apartment and an 80-85 years old man allegedly burnt to death during the fire.

Şirin Altay who was wounded when a house was shot by cannon on 24 December 2015 in Başak quarter died on 24 January 2016 in the hospital in Batman.

Police officer Bayram Özdere (44) was killed during an armed clash that broke out on 22 January 2016 in Sur quarter of Cizre district in Şırnak.
First Lieutenant Uğur Taşçı was killed during an armed clash that broke out on 23 January 2016 in Dağkapı quarter of Cizre district in Şırnak.
2 soldiers were heavily wounded when a military troop was attacked with a rocket launcher on 22 January 2016 in Hasırlı quarter of Sur district in Diyarbakır.
9 police officers were wounded when a police bus was attacked on 21 January 2016 in Nusaybin district of Mardin.
An unidentified female civilian died when a bomb exploded during the passage of an armoured vehicle on 23 January 2016 in Nusaybin district of Mardin.

Kanîwar Hesen Kolîn (21) living in Cindirêsê city of Afrin Canton of Rojava on Kilis border was shot and wounded when Turkish soldiers opened fire on 24 January 2016.
(01/133) Bomb Attack in Diyarbakır…
On 22 January 2016, 5 students were wounded when unidentified persons threw a bomb in the garden of Çelebi Eser School in Bağlar district of Diyarbakır.
(01/134) Attacks against Curfew Protests…
The police intervened the protest staged by high school students in Didim district of Aydın and detained 14 children.
The police prevented another protest staged by high school students in İzmir and detained 12 children under beatings.
On 24 January 2016, The police dispersed the protest in Adana by using real bullets. A.Y.K. (16) was shot at foot and wounded during the police intervention. A.Y.K. was detained and taken to Hürriyet Police Station. He was reportedly hospitalised from the police station.
The police also opened fire during the protest staged in Kanarya quarter of Küçükçekmece district in İstanbul. Mehmet Veysel Işık was shot at back and wounded during the incident. Mehmet Veysel Işık was hospitalised with the risk of paralysis.
(01/135) Return to Life Prisons’ Operation Case Concluded…
Anadolu Heavy Penal Court No 5 continued on 22 January 2016 to hear the case launched against 399 prisoners in connection with the prisons operation conducted in Ümraniye Prison in İstanbul on 19 December 2000 on charges of “uprising against prison administration”, “possessing explosives” and “wounding people”. During the prisons operation “Return to life” conducted in several prisons simultaneously 32 persons died, 7 prisoners died during the operation in Ümraniye Prison.
In his opinion as to the accusations at the previous hearing, the Public Prosecutor wanted the defendants to be acquitted. The court followed the demand of the Public Prosecutor and acquitted all the defendants.
(01/136) Journalist on Trial in Van…
Erciş (Van) Penal Court of First Instance No 3 continued on 21 January 2016 to hear 2 separate cases against Dicle News Agency (DİHA) correspondent İdris Yılmaz launched on charges of “insulting the State President” and “being member of an illegal organisation”.
In the case launched according to the Article 7/2 of Anti-Terror Law on charges of “being member of an illegal organisation”, the court decided to release İdris Yılmaz to be tired without remand and adjourned the hearing to 15 February 2016.
The court also adjourned the hearing of case launched according to the Article 299 TPC to a later date.

The police conducted raids on 21 January 2016 in Kocaeli against the houses of the Socialist Youth Associations Federation (SGDF) embers and detained 6 persons on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”. The detainees were released on the same day.

During the operations conducted on 21 January 2016, 31 persons in İstanbul, 1 person in Eruh district of Siirt, 3 persons in Bismil district of Diyarbakır, 1 person in Hakkari, 2 persons in Van were detained.
Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Central Executive Committee member Zeki Çelik, Sıdık Koçgürbüz, Ömer Aşkara, Osman Nuri Baymaz, Mustafa Demir, Hüseyin Gök, Gani Önal, Cuma Yaşar, Burhaneddin Büdüş, Abubekir Bakır and Abdurrahman Erol who were among the detainees in İstanbul were arrested on 24 January 2015 on the allegations of “providing financial support to PKK” and “being member of an illegal organisation”.
Mehmet Mehdi Biçimli andYasin Taşkıran who were among 3 persons detained in Bismil were arrested on 21 January 2015 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”.
5 persons including 1 child who were among persons detained during house raids in İzmir were arrested on 21 January 2015 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”.
Former HDP MP Halil Aksoy was arrested on 21 January 2015 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation” and “making propaganda of an illegal organisation” when he went to Ağrı Security Directorate to testify in connection with an investigation started after the raid of his house in İstanbul.
On 22 January 2016, the police conducted raids against the house of İnönü University students in Malatya and detained 41 persons.
Nuri Akman, Co-Mayor of Sırtköy town of İdil district in Şırnak, was detained during a house raid on 22 January 2016.
Abdulaziz Bilgi, prisoners’ relatives association TUHAD-FED representative for Şırnak, was detained after a visit to Şırnak T-type Prison.
2 children were reportedly detained during the house raids in Muş.
10 persons who were among 13 persons detained during house raids on 19 January 2016 in Derik district of Mardin were arrested on 24 January 2015 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”.
Jin News Agency (JİNHA) correspondent Mizgin Adım who was following the developments during the blockade and operations in Cizre district of Şırnak was detained on 23 January 2016.
Yenişehir Municipality Assembly members Türkan Uzan Avşin and Mehmet Ergün, municipality worker Baki Öndeş were detained during house raids on 22 January 2016 in Yenişehir district of Diyarbakır.
Akdeniz University student Abdülillah Turan who was detained in Antalya and subjected to torture in Antalya Security Directorate was arrested on 22 January 2015 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”. His facial bones were broken and there were bruises on his body after the torture.
13 persons were reportedly detained during the operations on 24 January 2016 in Siirt.
Canan Güngör, Güven Güngör and Salih Güngör who were detained during the operations in Van were arrested on 24 January 2015 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”.
Cizre Co-Mayor Leyla İmret who was dismissed from duty by the Ministry of Interior Affairs was detained on 22 January 2016.
