(01/116) Curfew in Cizre…
The curfew in Cizre district of Şırnak reached its 39th day as of 21 January 2016.
1 persons and 1 child were shot during the clashes that broke out in the morning of on 19 January 2016. The ambulance was allegedly opened fire by the Special Forces. 2 more persons were shot during the incident.
ECtHR reportedly took interlocutory injunction decision upon appeal by the lawyers of the family. Orhan Tunç. He was shot on 19 January 2016 and missing since then. .
On 20 January 2016, a group of persons including Peoples’ Democratic Party MP Faysal Sarıyıldız was opened fire when they were going to take 6 wounded persons in Cudi quarter.
10 persons including İMC TV correspondent Refik Tekin were wounded during the attack. Cizre Municipality Assembly member Abdulhamit Poçal died. Selman Erdoğan who was detained while being taken to hospital for being heavily wounded also died of blood loss.
Serhat Altun who was wounded on 19 January 2016 also died of blood loss on the grounds that no one was allowed to approach him. ECtHR previously took interlocutory injunction decision concerning the condition of Serhat Altun.
The body of Ahmet Tunç (50) who was missing for 2 days was found shot in front of his house in Cudi quarter.

The curfew in Sur district of Diyarbakır reached its 42th day as of 21 January 2016.
Upon permission of the governmental authorities, the bodies Oran Seviktek and Mesut Seviktek who died on 23 December 2015 were given to and identified by their families on 19 January 2016.
Reyhan Kavak, Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Co-Chair for Sur, was shot at back and heavily wounded when the clashes in Hasırlı quarter intensified on 19 January 2016.

3 police officers were wounded on 19 January 2016 in Sur district of Diyarbakır when they were opened fire during the operations.
2 gendarmerie soldiers were reportedly killed and 5 soldiers were wounded during a clash that broke out on 20 January 2016 in Sur district of Diyarbakır.
1 police officer who was heavily wounded during a clash on 18 January 2016 in Cizre district f Şırnak died in the hospital.

On 20 January 2016, the police officer Ali Çınar (34) charged at Antalya Security Directorate killed his wife Serap Çınar (33) who wanted to divorce.
(01/120) Lütfullah Tacik Case…
Van Heavy Penal Court No 2 continued on 19 January 2015 to hear the case against police officers in connection with the death of Afghani refugee Lütfullah Tacik (17) as a result of beatings on 31 May 2015 in Van. The indictment wants the police officer Serdar Oran to be sentenced for “simple wounding and causing death by intentional wounding” and the police officer Hasan Özgür Özdemir for “misconduct of duty”.
Police officer Serdar Oran testified at the hearing through the SEGBİS tele-conference system. The court rejected the demand of lawyers to be intervening party with case and adjourned the hearing to 10 March 2016.
Lütfullah Tacik (17) who was detained by the soldiers on 16 May 2014 while trying to pass the border illegally in Iğdır and transferred to the Repatriation Centre of the Foreigner’s Department in Van on 26 May 2014 to be deported was beaten by a police officer for lying about his age.
Lütfullah Tacik had cerebral haemorrhage when the police officer Serdar Oran working at Illegal Migration and Human Trafficking Department of Foreigner’s Department beat him. He was hospitalised, but died on 31 May 2014.

İzmir Penal Court of First Instance No 41 concluded on 20 January 2016 to hear the case against Filiz Akıncı launched for flipping the Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan the bird during his visit to İzmir on 16 March 2014 for local elections.
The court sentenced the defendant to 11 months and 20 days’ imprisonment under to the Article “125 TPC for “insulting public officer”.

Silvan (Diyarbakır) Heavy Penal Court continued on 19 January 2016 to hear the case against 15 persons launched in connection with the speeches during the 2014 Newroz celebrations in Silvan. The indictment wants the defendants to be sentenced for “making propaganda of an illegal organisation”.
The court decided not to be responsible with the case and sent the files to the related heavy penal court in Diyarbakır.

The police intervened the protest staged on 19 January 2016 in Ergani district of Diyarbakır and detained 4 persons including 3 children.

According to the news appeared in the press on 19 January 2016, the physician and the union in health sector SES member Abdullah Köçeroğlu was arrested on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”. Abdullah Köçeroğlu was previously exiled from Nusaybin district of Mardin to Kızıltepe district on the grounds of possible intention to treat wounded persons during curfew in Nusaybin.
Special Forces conducted house raids on 19 January 2016 in Tuşba district of Van and detained Musa Tayfur, Erdal Yorgun and 3 persons who were spokespersons of Neighbourhood Assembly in Şemsibey quarter.
13 persons were detained during the house raids conducted in Derik district of Mardin.
M.E. (17) and M.Y.Ç. (17) who were detained during a road control in Şanlıurfa were arrested on 19 January 2016 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”.
The police conducted house raids on 20 January 2016 in Adana and detained 6 persons on the allegations of “taking part in an illegal demonstration”.
The journalists Sinan Targay and Alp Kayserilioğlu who were following the developments in the districts where curfews were imposed were detained on 20 January 2016 in Dargeçit district of Mardin.
Asime Akyol, M. Emin Polat, Mazlum Silinsin, Abdullah Ataş, Hamza Aslan and Habib Keleş who were detained during operations in Manisa in connection with a Democratic Youth Associations Federation (Demokratik Gençlik Dernekleri Federasyonu – DEM-GENÇ) Investigation were arrested on 20 January 2016 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”.
