It was learned that a man named Celal Çatlı lost his life during a clash that broke out on 12 October 2026 whilst police were carrying out a house raid in the Karaköprü district of Urfa. According to press reports, it is alleged that Celal Çatlı, who was said to have an arrest warrant against him for “intentional wounding” and various other offences, committed suicide.

On 13 October 2026, as part of an investigation into the municipality of the Etimesgut district of Ankara , as part of an investigation into the municipality of the Etimesgut district, 25 people – including Deputy Mayors Fikret Gözüoğlu and Gültekin Bayındır – were detained in operations carried out across five provinces on charges of “membership of a criminal organisation”, “misappropriation”, “bribery”, “extortion” and “tender rigging”.

In the case against brought against academic Gülistan Yarkın, her at the Ankara Criminal Court of First Instance No 92 i, it has been reported that in an interim ruling issued by the court on 9 October 2026, the arrest warrant against Gülistan Yarkın was lifted and a request for mutual legal assistance was to be made to the German judicial authorities; to this end, it was decided that the indictment and relevant documents should be translated into German.

It has been reported that the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has launched investigations into those who shared documents relating to the fund crisis on social media. It has not been possible to ascertain the total number of individuals against whom investigations have been launched.
