It was learned that Anıl Boyacıoğlu, Chair of the Izmir Provincial Youth Wing of the Good Party, was subjected to physical violence by unidentified individuals whilst getting into his car on 19 September 2026.
(09/121) Police Intervention at Celebrations in Istanbul and Bingöl…
On 20 September 2026, police intervened against a crowd gathered in the Bağcılar district of Istanbul to celebrate Amedspor’s 3–2 victory over Beşiktaş in a Super League match; it has been reported that the police detained three people, using physical force and handcuffing them behind their backs.
According to press reports on 21 September 2026, it was reported that the police in the Solhan district of Bingöl issued administrative fines of 7,000 TL per person to those who had formed a convoy of vehicles to celebrate, on the grounds of “driving in a manner that disturbs public peace”. It was not possible to ascertain the total number of people fined.
(09/122) Individuals Detained as Part of the Investigation into the “Süleymancılar” Community…
According to press reports on 20 September 2026, it was learned that detention orders had been issued for 29 individuals and that administrators had been appointed to 23 companies as part of the investigation into the community known as the “Süleymancılar”.
It was reported that, as part of the investigations into the religious community known as the “Süleymancılar”, 80 people had been arrested since 13 August, judicial supervision orders had been issued against 22 people, and administrators had been appointed to 74 companies.

According to news reports published on 20 September 2026, it has been reported that an investigation has been launched against the actor Müfit Can Saçıntı on the grounds of a joke he made regarding the appointment of trustees at an event he attended.

On 9 July 1998, an explosion at the Mısır Çarşısı in the Eminönü district of Istanbul resulted in the deaths of seven people and injuries to 127 others. Following the overturning of the acquittal ruling regarding sociologist Pınar Selek in the case relating to this incident, the retrial continued on 18 September 2026 at the Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No. 15. The court adjourned the hearing until 5 February 2027.
Following the overturning by the 9th Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation of the acquittal handed down on 8 June 2006 in the case against Pınar Selek on charges of ‘membership of an organisation’, the trial had recommenced at the Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No. 12. On 23 May 2008, Pınar Selek was once again acquitted, but the 9th Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation quashed this decision on its merits as well. Following this, the case, which had recommenced at the Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No. 12, saw Selek acquitted once more at the hearing held on 9 February 2011. Following the overturning of this verdict as well, Pınar Selek was sentenced to an aggravated life sentence on 24 January 2013. Following the Court of Cassation’s Criminal Chamber No. 9’s overturning of the aggravated life sentence, the case was retried at the Istanbul Heavy Penal Court No. 15, where Pınar Selek was acquitted for the fourth time. However, this acquittal was also quashed on the merits on 21 June 2022.

According to press reports on 18 September 2026, it was learned that access to the X social media account belonging to the Azadiya Welat newspaper had been restricted.
According to press reports on 19 September 2026, it was learned that the X social media account belonging to the Turkish Psychiatric Association had been blocked as part of operations dubbed ‘My Family is Safe’ by the Ministry of Justice.
According to news reports on 21 September 2026, it was learned that access to the X social media account belonging to Yavuz Değirmenci, one of the founders of the Future Party, had been blocked.
