According to press reports published on 3 September 2026, it emerged that on 30 August 2026 in Bayburt, two people (Süleyman Konat and his nephew) wearing Amedspor shirts were attacked by a group of 15 racists. It was reported that Süleyman Konat sustained injuries to various parts of his body during the attack, and that those detained in connection with the incident had been released.

According to news reports published on 2 August 2026, following the Süper Lig match between Amedspor and Trabzon on 31 August 2026, it emerged that a group of Trabzonspor supporters, whilst travelling by coach through the Ergani district of Diyarbakır, had hurled racist and sexist remarks. It was also reported that an individual, whose footage of them uttering racist and hateful remarks whilst on the bus carrying the Trabzonspor supporters was shared on social media, had been taken into custody.

The trial of Mahmut Delil Erik, who is accused of the assault that led to the death of Ali Aydın – a lawyer and former Co-Chair of the İzmir Branch of the Human Rights Association (İHD) – whilst he was taking part in a march in the Çiğli district of İzmir on 14 January 2026, began on 2 September 2026. The indictment seeks the defendant’s conviction on the charge of ‘murder with savage intent or by inflicting suffering’. The court ruled that Mahmut Delil Erik should remain in custody and adjourned the hearing until 20 November 2026.

As part of an investigation into the Üsküdar District Municipality in Istanbul, Deputy Mayors Amine Cansu Çelik and Mithat Özdemir, First Deputy Chairman of the Council Ali Aral, and Deputy Mayor Nihat Doğan were detained on 2 September 2026. Ali Aral and Nihat Doğan were released on the same day following their statements to the public prosecutor’s office. As part of the same investigation, on 3 September 2026, Municipal Council member Ekrem Baki and one other person were detained.

Pınar Gayıp was detained on 3 February 2026 and remanded in custody on 5 February 2026.

Ahmet Uçar had been remanded in custody on 3 February 2026.

It has emerged that the concert by music producer and DJ Anyma, due to take place on 12 September 2026 in Ataköy, Istanbul, was cancelled on 2 September 2026 by the Istanbul Governor’s Office following allegations that some of the visuals used at the event ‘contained satanic symbols’.
