According to news reports published on June 23, 2026, it was learned that four prisoners (Beycan Taşkıran, Gamze Toprak, Fatma Saygılı, and Dilan Ergül) held at the Istanbul Bakırköy Women’s Prison were transferred to the Kocaeli Gebze Women’s Prison against their will.

On June 19, 2026, as part of an investigation into the Silifke Municipality in Mersin, 19 people were detained; eight of them, including Mayor Mustafa Turgut, were arrested by the magistrate’s court on June 22, 2026, after being brought before it. Eleven others were released under judicial supervision.

Of the 39 people detained on June 19, 2026, as part of an investigation into the Adalar Municipality in Istanbul, 35—including Mayor Ali Ercan Akpolat—were remanded in custody on June 23, 2026, by the magistrate’s court to which they were referred, on charges of “bribery,” “extortion,” “forgery of official documents,” “forming and leading an organization to commit crimes,” and “abuse of office,” while 4 individuals were released under judicial supervision.

On June 23, 2026, in Ankara, among those detained were Kaos GL Editor-in-Chief Yıldız Tar, Revolutionary Party Chair Elif Torun Öneren, academic Emel Memiş, attorney Semra Demir, Kürşat Bafra, as well as members of New Democratic Youth (YDG), People’s Houses, the Federation of Socialist Youth Associations (SGDF), the Free University Movement, Revolutionary Youth Associations, the Association of Contemporary Lawyers, the People’s Law Office, and the Union of Insecure and Unemployed Workers (UMUT-SEN).
It was reported that a 24-hour restriction on lawyer visits was imposed on those detained.

The final hearing in the case against journalist Furkan Karabay—which was filed at the Ankara Criminal Court of First Instance No. 54 following a complaint by a member of the Constitutional Court (AYM) regarding a news report he had written—took place on June 23, 2026. The indictment seeks to punish the journalist for the crime of “insulting a public official.” The court ruled to dismiss the case on the grounds that the statute of limitations had expired.

In a statement issued on June 22, 2026, the Ankara Governor’s Office announced that within the province’s borders, the following actions and activities are prohibited: gatherings, meetings, and marches; press conferences; hunger strikes; sit-ins; protests; rallies; setting up booths; setting up tents, distributing flyers/leaflets/brochures, hanging posters/banners, and similar actions and events within the province’s borders for a period of 13 days, from June 28 to July 10, 2026.

According to news reports published on June 22, 2026, it was learned that access to two Instagram accounts belonging to the Young LGBTI+ Association and the Free Colors Association had been restricted.
