The police intervened the march of Student Collectives to Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) in Ankara on December 15, 2025 to deliver 20.000 signatures to MPs demanding equalization of Credit and Dormitories Institution scholarships to half of the minimum wage. 10 people including 1 child were detained by the police.

4 people who were detained for participating in the protests in Izmir after the detain of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, are arrested by the Criminal Judgeship of Peace on December 15, 2025 on the charges of ‘violating Law No 2911 on Meetings and Demonstrations’ and ‘insulting the President’. The names of the arrested persons could not be learned.

On December 16, 2025, 12 members of Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) are detained through an Istanbul based investigation. The names of the detainees are: İsmet Yurtsever, Muhammed Bedran Çoğaltay, İbrahim Gerçek, Zeynep Gerçek, Selvinaz Göçmez, Mustafa Naci Toper, Ezgi Bahçeci, Deniz Bahçeci, Serhad Demirtaş, Gül Sağlık, Cansu Akkaş, Ömer Sinan Yıldız.
(12/091) Journalists on Trial in Istanbul…
The first trial of the case against journalists Zeynep Kuray, Mahsum Sağlam, Pelin Laçin, Yadigar Aygün and Yağmur Filiz, for the press declaration in Istanbul about journalists Nazım Daştan and Cihan Bilgin who lost their lives in Northern and Eastern Syria, started on December 16, 2025 at Istanbul Criminal Court of First Instance No 39. The court decided to lift the judicial control measures against the journalists and adjourned the trial to May 8, 2026.

On December 16, 2025, it is learned from news coverage of December 16, 2025 that the news report titled “There is no justice in the courthouse, citizen has no owner” on https://www.birgun.net/ website is banned to access on the grounds of protection of national security and public order, within the scope of Article 8/A of Law No 5651 and it is ruled to delete the content.
It is learned that 3 news reports about a person named K.K. on https://www.diken.com.tr/, https://www.odatv.com and https://www.gercekgundem.com/ websites are banned to access on the grounds of ‘protection of national security and public order’ by Istanbul Penal Court of Peace No 3 on December 15, 2025 and it is ruled to delete these news reports.
