The Human Rights Foundation of Turkey, the Human Rights Association and the World Organization against Torture organize an online side-event to the 49th Session of the UN Human Rights Council, on March 15, at 17.00 pm CET/ 19.00 pm IST
With the participation of Clément Nyaletsossi VOULE, UN Special Rapporteur on the Rights to Freedom of Peaceful Assembly and of Association, speakers will discuss the restrictions on the freedom of assembly and association, one of the many obstacles and challenges faced by the human rights defenders in Turkey. The obstacles to the freedom of assembly, demonstration and association, which is one of the basic conditions for defending human rights, will be evaluated by conveying the oppression and difficulties experienced by the Saturday Mothers, Boğaziçi Student Movement and LGBTI+ Movement.
This side event seeks to strengthen cooperation and solidarity with international actors to support the human rights movement, and is open to everyone’s participation.
