(05/045) Operations and Attacks…

It is learned from the news coverage of May 6, 2021 that, 7 militants died in a clash between Turkish Armed Forces units and HPG militants in Avaşin area of Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government on May 3, 2021.

(05/046) People Subjected to Physical Violence of Police in Adana…

On May 6, 2021, the police used pepper spray and shields to intervene the members of Furkan Foundation, gathering in front of Provincial Directorate Security of Adana where other members who were detained in several mosques while having “itikaf” prayers (an Islamic practice of staying in a mosque for a certain number of days) are kept. It is learned that several people got wounded.

It is learned from the news coverage of May 6, 2021 that, Yusuf Boz, a prisoner with eye disease in Diyarbakır High Security Prison No 1, was not being medically treated.

(05/048) Meeting Request with Abdullah Öcalan Not Responded…

It is learned that the appeal made on May 6, 2021 to chief public prosecutor’s office in Bursa by PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan’s lawyers in order to visit their client was not responded.

(05/049) Police Intervention to a Protest in Istanbul…

The police intervened the press declaration in front of Cengiz Holding office, to protest the oppression against the nature watch against stone pit project in İşkencedere valley of İkizdere district of Rize, held by the Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) and Socialist Youth Associations Federation (SGDF) members, in Üsküdar district of Istanbul on May 6, 2021. 4 people who were detained by the police are released after statement procedures on the same day.

5 people including environmental activist Hüseyin Akıl who were detained in house raids in Sason district of Batman on May 4, 2021, are released by the court on May 6, 2021. Detained people were: Hüseyin Akıl, Mehmet Akıl, Ramazan Akıl, İbrahim Onar and Bilgin Onar.

1 person who was detained on April 29, 2021 in Istanbul, is arrested by the court on May 6, 2021.

(05/052) Covid-19 Pandemic…

The Ministry of Health declared that 304 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and 2,401 new Covid-19 ill patients were diagnosed on May 6, 2021. It is also declared that the daily number of Covid-19 cases is 22,388.

The death toll from Covid-19 in Turkey increased to 42,187 and total number of confirmed ill patients is 4,977,982 as of May 6, 2021.

It is learned from the news coverage of May 6, 2021 that, all prisoners kept in B-11 ward of Diyarbakır Women’s Prison have tested positive for Covid-19 and 2 prisoners are in serious health condition.
