(11/106) Operations and Attacks in Southeast…

It is learned that 7 soldiers got wounded due to roll-over of a military vehicle in Hasankeyf district of Batman on November 11, 2019.

It is learned from the news coverage of November 11, 2019 that 3 HPG militants died in air operations of Turkish Armed Forces to Heftanin area in Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government on August 2 and 9, 2019.

(11/107) Police Intervention Against “I Want My Job Back” Protest in Ankara…

The police intervened the press declaration of public labourers who had been dismissed by a state of emergency decree and have been struggling 1098 days to regain their jobs, intended to be held in front of Human Rights Monument in Yüksel Street on November 11, 2019 at 13.30, and at 18.00.

It was reported that during police intervention against the press declaration which was planned to be held at 13.30 on November 11, 2019, 3 people (Acun Karadağ and Nazan Bozkurt) and at 18.00 4 people (Nazan Bozkurt, Merve Demirel, Umutcan Aybak and Taylan Sungur) were detained. It is claimed that Nazan Bozkurt, who got wounded due to police intervention at 18.00, was bitten by a police officer.

Thus in total 6 people were detained due to press declaration intended to be held in Yüksel Street on November 11, 2019. It is learned detained people were released on the same days they were detained.

 

(11/108) Police Intervention Against a Protest in Ankara…

The police intervened the protestors in front of Çankaya Public Health Directorate on November 11, 2019, who rally to regain their jobs from which they had been dismissed by state of emergency decrees, and detained 2 people (Mahmut Konuk and Eser Budak). It is learned that 2 people were released the same day.

The police intervened the sit-in protest at Bakırköy Square on November 11, 2019 of Nursel Tanrıverdi who rally to regain her job from which she had been dismissed by state of emergency decree, and detained her by using physical violence.

It is learned that the press declaration of Meya Kara, the worker who was fired without severance payment and Emeğin Gücü (Power of Labour) Association in front of Cihan textile firm in Esenyurt district of Istanbul on November 11, 2019, is intervened by Şükrü Ünre, the owner of the firm and his associates using physical violence. It is reported that Meya Kara got wounded at the head due to physical violence.

(11/111) Police Intervention Against a Protest in Istanbul…

The police intervened Revolutionary Youth Associations members who held a banner saying “AKP’s rule is killing! Employers’ media is hiding the truth!”, at a shopping mall in Beyoğlu district of Istanbul on November 11, 2019 and detained 7 people. The names of detained people known so fare are: Elif Üçerli and Ezgi Ertürk.

It is learned that detention period for 35 people including 1 child and People’s Democratic Party (HDP) Youth Assembly members who were detained in house raids in Istanbul on November 8, 2019 and following days, is extended for 4 more days on November 11, 2019. It is also learned from the news coverage of November 11, 2019 that detained people were forced to strip search under custody and went on a hunger strike to protest this. It is reported that the police raided house of Serdar Başaran, one of detainees, made all family members including 15-years-old disabled brother, face down on the ground and held guns against their heads.

(11/113) Detained Co-Mayors in Van…

Şehzade Kut and Azim Yacan, co-mayors of İpekyolu district of Van, who were detained on November 8, 2019, are arrested by the court on the charge of ‘being an illegal organisation member’ and ‘making propaganda for an illegal organisation’ on November 11, 2019.

(11/114) Detained District Council Members and Others in Diyarbakır…

Halime Akyol, district council member of Sur and Hevidar Bozkuş, district council of Bağlar, who were detained in house raids in Diyarbakır on November 11, 2019, are arrested by the court on the charge of ‘resisting the police’. It is learned that 2 people (Sipan Tosun and Zeki Arsimet) who were also detained, are released on judicial control conditions.

(11/115) Mazlum Turan Case…

Mardin Heavy Penal Court No 2 has reversed the verdict of Mardin Heavy Penal Court No 1 on April 27, 2019, which sentenced police officer Süleyman Esenboğa to 1 year 10 months and 15 days and then suspended the execution on January 18, 2019. Mazlum Turan (16) died due to the fire opened to his car, by special operations force applying road check in Kızıltepe district of Mardin on August 29, 2015, after an attack against police shuttle. It was claimed that Mazlum Turan disobeyed the stop warning for not having driving licence.

The retrial of Süleyman Esenboğa continued on November 11, 2019. The court rejected the demand sentenced Süleyman Esenboğa to 12 years on the charge of ‘murder as a result of wilful injury’ and then reduced the sentence to 10 years on the grounds of good conduct.

(11/116) Trials in Alleged Link to Coup Attempt…

The final trial of the case against Şerif Bek, former member of Supreme Military Administrative Court, is held at Penal Department No 9 of Supreme Court on November 11, 2019. The court sentenced the defendant to 12 years on the charge of ‘being an illegal organisation member’ and then reduced the sentence to 10 years.

It is learned from the news coverage of November 11, 2019 that, 270 of 289 cases opened so far in relation to July 15 coup attempt are ended. Accordingly, 1124 people are sentenced to heavy life imprisonment, 1103 people are sentenced to life imprisonment and in total 3838 people are sentenced to jail time.
