(04/048) Covid-19 Case in Prison…

HRFT and Human Rights Association (IHD) made a press declaration on April 7, 2020 on urgent actions to prevent spread of Covid-19 in prisons and stated that 2 physicians of Şakran Prison in Aliağa district of Izmir have been hospitalized for pre-diagnosis of Covid-19 based on clinical findings.

The police intervened the press declarations of public labourers who had been dismissed by a state of emergency decree and have been struggling 1245 days to regain their jobs, in front of Human Rights Monument in Yüksel Street on April 6, 2020 at 13.30 and at 18.00, and forced people away from the monument by using physical violence.

Ministry of Interior declared on April 6, 2020 that within last 3 weeks 3576 social media accounts have been investigated for social media posts about Covid-19 pandemic and 229 people are detained for the same reason.

Sema Tekin, Peoples’ Democratic Party’s (HDP) city council member of Malazgirt district of Muş is suspended by Ministry of Interior on April 6, 2020.

It is learned from the news coverage of April 6, 2020 that banners about Covid-19 pandemic, hung by Republican People’s PArty (CHP) in Eyüpsultan district of Istanbul, were pulled off by Justice and Development Party’s (AKP) Eyüpsultan Municipality.

Mardin Governorate made a declaration on April 6, 2020 and announced curfew in 3 rural neighbourhoods of Dargeçit district as of 23.00 on April 6, 2020 until a further notice. Neighbourhoods under curfew are: Kısmetli, Harmanlı, Karagöl.

(04/054) Covid-19 Pandemic…

Ministry of Health declared that 75 people died due to Covid-19 pandemic and 3,148 new Covid-19 cases were diagnosed on April 6, 2020.

The death toll from Covid-19 in Turkey increased to 649 and total number of confirmed cases is 30,217 as of April 6, 2020.
