(11/016) Persons Killed by the Police in Hakkari…

Special Forces conducted operation on 3 November 2015 in Yüksekova district of Hakkari to fill the ditches in Cumhuriyet quarter of the district.

Residents of the quarter set up barricades to prevent the security forces from entering the quarter. But the police attacked the barricades. Doğan Doğma (20) was killed by being shot at chest and Çetin Dara (18) was killed by being shot at heart when the police opened fire.

(11/017) Person Killed by the Police in Diyarbakır…

Sertip Polat (20) was shot to death by the police during the operations on 3 November 2015 in Silvan where curfew was implemented for the 6th time in the last few months. Security forces reportedly conducted operations on the night of 3 November 2015 in the Tekel quarter of the district.

(11/018) Person Shot in İstanbul…

Fatih Ürker who was shot by the police and wounded on 2 November 2015 when the police opened fire for insisting to enter the Huber Mansion, the State President’s office in İstanbul reportedly died on the same day in the hospital. Security forces and the person reportedly had a dispute when the person insisted to enter the mansion. The police opened fire against him when the persons did not obey the stop warning while leaving the mansion. He was heavily wounded.

According to the official announcement, the person took the weapon of a police officer during the quarrel and opened fire. He allegedly attempted to commit suicide afterwards.

(11/019) Person Killed in Siirt…

A male was shot to death by the police on 3 November 2015 in Siirt when the police opened fire against 2 persons on the allegations of not obeying stop warning. An armed clash allegedly broke out after the incident and a police officer was wounded. A female reportedly escaped.

(11/020) Worker Deaths…

Worker’s Health and Job Safety Assembly announced on 3 November 2015 that at least 143 workers died in October 2015 during work accidents due to untaken security measures. At least 1461 workers died in first 10 months of 2015.

(11/021) Operations and Attacks in the Southeast

The police opened fire against a group of persons on 3 November 2015 in Silvan district of Diyarbakır when people gathered on Azizoğlu Avenue to protest in the curfew decision in the district. Abdulkerim Eleftos (27) was shot at leg and wounded during the intervention. Faysal Korkmaz was also wounded with the fragments caused by the uses of explosives.

Governorate of Bingöl announced on 3 November 2015 that several regions in 6 districts of the province were decided to be temporary security zones until 18 November 2015. Entrance of civilians to the security zones was also banned.

(11/022) Death in Prison…

Salih Şenses who was arrested on 2 November 2015 in Gönen district of Balıkesir for killing his relatives allegedly committed suicide in his cell in Bandırma M-type Prison.

(11/023) Magazine Editors Arrested in İstanbul…

Editor-in-chief with the magazine Nokta Cevheri Güven and managing editor of the magazine Murat Çapan who were detained during the raid conducted against the premises of the weekly Nokta in İstanbul on 2 November 2015 after the confiscation decision for the last issue of the magazine were arrested according to the Article 214 TPC on the allegations of “inciting an armed uprising against the government”. The cover of the 24th issue was the State President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Telecommunication Communication Directorate (TİB) also banned access to the web site of the magazine “www.noktadergisi.com”.

(11/024) Political Party Premises Raided Kırklareli…

On 3 November 2015, the police raided Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) premises and Kırklareli University Students Cultural Association (Kırklareli Üniversitesi Öğrenci Kültür Derneği – KÖKDER). The police seized the computers and the documents in the premises and association. 16 students were also detained in the association.

(11/025) Operations throughout Turkey…

Gendarmerie soldiers conducted house raids on 3 November 2015 in Sitîlîlê (Akarsu) village of Nusaybin district in Mardin. 6 persons were detained during the raids and the reason of the operations was not disclosed.

Arif Kakik who was detained during a house raid in Güroymak district of Bitlis was arrested on 3 November 2015 on the allegations of “aiding an illegal organisation”.

The police conducted a house raid on 3 November 2015 in Batman against the house of Democratic Regions Party (DBP) executive for the province Murat Okay. He was detained during the raid along with his son Aziz Okay.

Security forces conducted operations on 3 November 2015 against the members and executives of Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) and DBP in Mazıdağı district of Mardin. 5 persons including Mazıdağı Co-Mayor Ali Özkan were detained.
