(08/123) Extra-judicial Killing in Şırnak…

Cebbar Acer (20) was shot at his groin when the police opened fire from an armoured vehicle on 19 August 2015 in İdil district of Şırnak. Cebbar Acer was taken home by other civilians, but died from loss of blood.

(08/124) Extra-judicial Killing in Mardin…

Ali Akpınar (19) was shot to death by the police when they used real bullets against a group of persons who staged a demonstration on 19 August 2015 in Artuklu district of Mardin to protest in the recent military operation and human rights violations. According to the eyewitnesses, Ali Akpınar was heavily wounded, but the police did not allow ambulance to hospitalise him.

One militant allegedly died during an armed clash that broke out on 20 August 2015 nearby Altınsu village of Şemdinli district in Hakkari.

(08/126) Operations throughout Turkey…

Hakkari Co-Mayors Dilek Hatipoğlu and Nurullah Çiftçi against whom arrest warrants were issued were detained on 20 August 2015 when they went to Public Prosecutor’s Office to talk about the reason of the decision.

17 members or sympathisers of Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) were detained during house raids conducted on 20 August 2015 in Alanya district of Antalya. They were reportedly detained on the allegations of “violating the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations”. A group of persons who allegedly staged a demonstration on 16 August 2015 in Alanya district of Antalya to protest in the recent clash environment attacked HDP premises in the district. A fight broke out after the attack between 2 groups and 15 persons were wounded during the incident. The operations were reportedly conducted in connection with the incident.

K.S. (17), Peoples’ Democratic Assembly (Demokratik Halk Meclisi) Co-Chair for Hizan district in Bitlis, who was detained during the operations conducted on 19 August 2015 following the declaration of self-governance was arrested on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”.

5 persons who were among 10 persons called to testify in connection with the declaration of self-governance in Batman were detained.

Garip Vurgun and Suphi Allak who were detained during the operations conducted in Mardin were arrested on 20 August2015 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”.

2 persons were detained without any reason on 20 August 2015 in in Kayapınar district of Diyarbakır. The detainees were reportedly beaten.

Hamide Özer, worker with the Binevş Women Solidarity Centre (Binevş Kadın Dayanışma Merkezi) in Hakkari, Mahmut Bülbül, Eşref Tarım and Kadri Ezer in Tarsus district of Mersin, 7 persons in Mardin who were recently detained were arrested on 20 August 2015 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”.

Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) premises in Antalya, Keçiören district of Ankara, Burdur and Osmaniye district of Bursa were stoned by ultra-nationalist groups for recent deaths of soldiers.
