It is learned from the news coverage of August 6, 2019 that, 1 HPG militant died in an air operation to rural areas of Bingöl’s Karlıova district on July 20, 2019.
(08/043) Police Intervention Against “I Want My Job Back” Protest in Ankara…
The police intervened the press declaration of public labourers who had been dismissed by a state of emergency decree and have been struggling 1001 days to regain their jobs, intended to be held in front of Human Rights Monument in Yüksel Street on August 6, 2019 at 13.30, and at 18.00.
It was reported that during police intervention against the press declaration which was planned to be held at 13.30 on July 10, 2019, 4 people (Mehmet Dersulu, Mahmut Konuk, Batuhan Şendağ, Merve Demirel) and at 18.00 2 people (Nazife Onay and Nazan Bozkurt) were detained.
Thus in total 6 people were detained due to press declaration intended to be held in Yüksel Street on August 6, 2019. It is learned that detainees were released the same day.

On August 6, 2019, Human Rights Association (IHD) Bitlis branch secretary Engin Başar, city council member Medeni Yalçınkaya, HDP’s Tatvan district co-chair Burak Ballıoğlu, Özgür Akbay and Orhan Yavuz are detained in house raids in Tatvan district of Bitlis.

Samiye Demir, district council member from HDP in Nusaybin district of Mardin, is detained at Nusaybin District Security Directorate where she went to give official statement through an investigation against her on August 6, 2019.

It is learned from the news coverage of August 6, 2019 that, Osman B., a German citizen, is detained at Antalya Airport, on the grounds of “making propaganda for an illegal organisation on social media”; and is arrested by the court.
It is stated in the news reports that 7 citizens of Germany are in prison in Turkey for “social media posts”.

It is learned from the news coverage of August 6, 2019 that, football and volleyball tournaments organized by HDP Youth Assembly in Savur district of Mardin, is banned by Savur Sub-Governorate on the grounds of security reasons.

It is learned from the news coverage of August 6, 2019 Ankara Penal Court of Peace No 3 has banned to access to 136 websites including Bianet, upon complaint of Gendarmerie General Command on July 16, 2019. The banned addresses include Etkin News Agency, Halkın Sesi TV, Özgür Gelecek, osp.org, geziyisavunuyoruz.org, Gazete Fersude, Yeni Demokratik Gençlik, Umut Gazetesi, Kızıl Bayrak, Marksist Teori, Direnişteyiz, Mücadele Birliği, Antakya Sokak websites as well as some social media accounts including HDP MP Oya Ersoy’s twitter account.
