(10/091) Child Killed by the police in Şırnak…

Mustafa Aşlığ (16) was shot to death on 25 October 2015 in Silopi district of Şırnak when the police opened fire during operations on 3rd Avenue.

(10/092) Armed Clash in Diyarbakır…

The police raided a house on 26 October 2015 in Diyarbakır as a part of the operations against the IS/ISIS. 7 police officers were wounded when a booby trap bomb exploded. 2 of the police officers died. 7 members of IS/ISIS were killed and 3 members were captured during the armed clash.

(10/093) Armed Clash in Tunceli…

3 militants of TIKKO (Turkish Workers’ and Peasants’ Liberation Army) were reportedly killed during an armed clash that broke out on 22 October 2015 in the rural area of Ovacık district in Tunceli.

(10/094) Child Shot in Şırnak…

M.D. (16) was wounded on 23 October 2015 in Silopi district of Şırnak when s/he was opened fire while passing by military mass housing.

(10/095) Extra-Judicial Killing Trial in Van…

On 22 October 2015, Ankara Heavy Penal Court No 6 continued to hear the case against 18 retired and regular soldiers launched in connection with the killings of the HPG militants Sunullah Keserci and Necmeddin Ahmed Hasan, and villager İbrahim Atabay (18) on 6 October 2009 in Buğulukaynak (Kel) village in Çaldıran district of Van.

According to the indictment, the militants were unarmed and trying to leave the village during the incident. But Beşir Atalay, who was the Ministry of Interior Affair then, alleged that the militants died during an armed clash.

After hearing the demands of the lawyers, the court rejected the demand for the arrest of the defendants and adjourned the hearing to 23 November 2015.

The case was transferred to Ankara for security reasons. The grave of Sunullah Keserci was reportedly opened on 26 September 2014 and the body was transferred to İstanbul Forensic Institute for autopsy and examination. The court still waits for the report of Forensic Institute for the last 3 hearings of the case.

(10/096) Operations and Attacks in the Southeast…

One militant was captured wounded during an armed clash that broke out on 23 October 2015 nearby Yağmurlu village of Batman.

2 militants were killed and 2 militants were captured during an armed clash on 23 October 2015 in the mountain region of Karayazı district in Erzurum.

(10/097) House Raid in İstanbul…

Dilek Doğan (25) who was shot during a house raid on 18 October 2015 in Sarıyer district of İstanbul conducted in connection with a “DHKP-C (Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party – Front) Investigation” died on 25 October 2015.

Dilek Doğan (25) was heavily wounded when the police opened fire in the house. She was reportedly shot from behind. The authorities did not make any statement concerning the incident. But Dilek Doğan’s family declared that the police opened fire when they had a dispute for wearing overshoes to enter the house.

(10/098) Impunity n Death in Custody Trial…

According to the news appeared in the press on 23 October 2015, İzmir Penal Court of Peace No 10 concluded to hear the case launched against 2 police officers in connection with the death of Özcan Kurtuluş in Şirinyer Police Station in Buca district of İzmir.

Özcan Kurtulmuş was detained on 15 September 2015 in Buca and allegedly committed suicide in custody by hanging himself.

The indictment wanted the defendants to be sentenced for “neglect of duty”. The court sentenced the officers to 2 months and 15 days’ imprisonment and commuted the sentences to a fine of TL 1,500.

Hasan Erturul incarcerated in Manisa E-type Prison and suffering from chronic diabetes died on 23 October 2015 in Manisa State Hospital. He was hospitalised for pneumonia.

(10/100) Human Shield Activists Intervened in Erzurum…

24 persons were detained on 23 October 2015 as they went to rural area of Karayazı district in Erzurum as human shield to stop the armed clashes in the region.

(10/101) Gezi Park Trials…

Çağlayan (İstanbul) Heavy Penal Court No 55 concluded on 23 October 2015 to hear the case against 255 persons including 7 foreigners launched on charges of “violating the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations”, “damaging a sanctuary [Bezm-i Alem Mosque] by means of making dirty”, “using special clothing illegally”, “damaging public property”, and “resisting security forces”.

The case was launched for taking part in Gezi Park demonstrations in Dolmabahçe quarter of Beşiktaş district in İstanbul. The demonstrators took shelter in Bezm-i Alem Mosque to escape from police violence.

The court sentenced 244 defendants to terms of imprisonment varying between 2 months 15 days and 1 year 2 months 16 days. The sentences were suspended. The court also acquitted 7 defendants and the files of 4 defendants were separated.

(10/102) Detentions in Ankara…

3 supporters of Gençlerbirliği Sports Club were detained on 24 October 2015 during the football match between Gençlerbirliği and Osmanlıspor in Ankara for opening placards saying “Ankara 10:04”, “Peace will overcome”, and “We are not good, We won’t be good” to commemorate the massacre in Ankara.

The supporters were detained on the allegations of “violating the Law on Prevention of Violence and Disorder in Sport”. But they were fined in the police station under the Law of Misdemeanour.

(10/103) Person on Trial on the allegations of Insulting the State President…

According to the news appeared in the press on 24 October 2015, Sinop Penal Court of First Instance No 2 concluded to hear the case against 6 persons launched on charges of “insulting the State President”. The case was launched for the slogan “Thief, Murderer Erdoğan” they shouted during a demonstration staged to protest in the killing of 301 miners in Soma. The court acquitted all the defendants.

On 24 October 2015, Telecommunication Communication Directorate (TİB) banned access to news portal “www.sendika7.org”. The site was run by the news portal sendika.org. This is the 8th domain of the portal banned by the TİB.

(10/105) Investigations, Detentions and Arrests on the Allegations of Insulting State President…

According to the news appeared in the press on 24 October 2015, 3 persons who were among 5 persons detained Ceylanpınar district of Şanlıurfa were arrested on the allegations of “insulting the State President on the internet”.

(10/106) Political Party Premises Attacked in Malatya…

Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) premises in Malatya were stoned by unidentified persons on 23 October 2015. The attack caused material damage.

(10/107) Operatons throughout Turkey…

6 members of Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) in Saruhanlı district of Manisa and 5 HDP members in Bursa who were detained during the operations were arrested on 22 October 2015 on the allegations of “making propaganda of an illegal organisation”. Sozda Gökçe was also arrested in Iğdır on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”.

Şakir Kılıç, Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Co-Chair for Eleşkirt district in Ağrı, Murat Karagüle and Figen Aslan was arrested in Iğdır on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”.

5 persons including Salih Altay, DBP Co-Chair for Karayazı district in Erzurum, who was detained during a house raid were arrested on the allegations of “being on the village commission of PKK”.

DBP Co-Chair for Savur district Mehmet Salih Filiz who was detained in Savur district of Mardin was arrested on 23 October 2015 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”.

Erkan Yılmaz, Co-Chair of Confederation of Progressive Trade Unions (DİSK) for Tunceli province, was arrested on 23 October 2015 on the allegations of “resisting security forces”.

15 DBP members in Diyadin district of Ağrı and 5 persons in Ceylanpınar district of Şanlıurfa were detained on 23 October 2015.

7 persons who were among 14 persons detained during house raids in Konya were arrested on 23 October 2015 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation” and “making propaganda of an illegal organisation”.

Hayri Tunç, writer with the web site www.jiyan.org was detained on 23 October 2015 in İstanbul.

Security forces conducted operations on 24 October 2015 and detained 24 persons in Varto district of Muş, 2 persons in Karayazı district of Erzurum, 3 persons in Kemah district of Erzincan, 23 persons in Siirt, 3 persons in Şırnak, and 2 persons in Van.

5 person including HDP Co-Chair for the district Halide Aktay who were detained in Varto district of Muş were arrested on 26 October 2015 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”.

2 persons who were among 4 persons detained during house raids in Hizan district of Bitlis and 6 members of HDP who were detained in Bulanık district of Muş were arrested on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”.
