(11/056) Silvan Blockaded…
The 6th curfew in Silvan district of Diyarbakır reached its 9th day as of 11 November 2015 and operations of security forces and clashes continued in the district. Since the first curfew started on 16 August 2015, 14 persons were killed in Silvan. On 11 November 2015, a military operation with tanks and helicopters was reportedly conducted and the district was blockaded by the security forces.
In 3 quarters of the district where intense armed clashes took place phone and internet lines went dead. The quarters were reportedly gone to rack and ruin. The population of the district was 90 thousand before the operations got started. 20 thousand persons reportedly had to flee the attacks and operations.
A civil investigation committee including Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) MPs Çağlar Demirel and Feleknas Uca wanted to visit Mescit quarter where curfew was implemented. Security forces did not allow the group to enter the quarter.
A soldier was allegedly run over by a tank during operation on 10 November 2015 in the district centre.
An official from the Ministry of Interior Affairs allegedly told to the HDP MPs that they will wipe Konak, Mescit and Tekel quarters off the map.

3 police officers died and a police officer was heavily wounded when a bomb exploded on 10 November 2015 in Silopi district of Şırnak during the passage of a police vehicle.
On 10 November 2015, 21 soldiers were wounded when a bomb exploded during the passage of a military convoy heading Silvan district of Diyarbakır where military operations were conducted.
Municipality worker Ramazan Tari (47) died and a police officer was wounded when a bomb-laden vehicle exploded on 11 November 2015 during the passage of armoured vehicle in Dargeçit district of Mardin.
(11/058) Emrah Demir Case…
Karşıyaka (İzmir) Heavy Penal Court started on 10 November 2015 to hear the case against the police officer Deniz G. launched in connection with the killing of Emrah Demir (21). After hearing the demands of the lawyers, the court accepted the demand for the arrest of the defendant and adjourned the hearing to a later date.
Emrah Demir was shot to death by the police officer Deniz G. on 14 December 2014 in Menemen district when they had a dispute.
(11/059) Aydın Aydoğan Case…
According to the news appeared on the press on 11 November 2015, İstanbul Administrative Court No 3 concluded to hear the compensation case against Ministry of Interior Affairs and İstanbul Governorate by Aydın Aydoğan who was shot at his left foot by the police with a tear gas canister during Gezi Park demonstrations in İstanbul.
The court rejected the case on the grounds that it could not be proved that the wound was caused by a tear gas canister.
Security Directorate defended at the previous hearing of the case that the injury of Aydın Aydoğan could have been caused by a daily accident, he might have sprained his ankle, and denied the allegations. Ministry of Interior Affairs also presented its defence in the case in December 2014 and defended that the police acted within limits of the laws and regulations. The Ministry also alleged that Aydın Aydoğan, though he was not a demonstrator and did not resist the security forces, did not take necessary protection measures a simple person would take and that’s why being wounded was his fault.
The defence was prepared relying on a decision by the 10th Chamber of the Highest Administrative Court in connection with the death of İsmail Işık (8) who died in 2005 nearby Patnos district of Ağrı when a mine exploded. The Chamber decided in the case that the security forces were not responsible with the incident.

According to the News appeared in the press on 10 November 2015, Fatma Gökhan and Pınar incarcerated in Diyarbakır E-type Prison and were beaten while being transferred to hospital were sentenced by the prison administration to 5 days of cell confinement on the allegations of “resisting public officers on duty” and “shouting slogans”.

According to the news appeared in the press on 11 November 2015, Mersin Penal Court of Peace Judge banned the 5-volumes book of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan “Kurdish Question and Solution of Democratic Nation (Kürt Sorunu ve Demokratik Ulus Çözümü)”. The court also ordered the book to be seized and stopped the sale. The book had been banned previously, but the Court of Cassation revoked the ban decision on book.

On 10 November 2015, Telecommunication Communication Directorate (TİB) banned access to the new web site of the DİHA (Dicle News Agency) “www.dihasistem.com.tr”. The number of the banned domains of DİHA reached 26.

E.B. (36) against whom an arrest warrant was issued on the allegations of “insulting the State President” was arrested on 10 November 2015.
(11/064) Protest Intervened in İzmir…
14 members and executives of Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) including HRFT founder Coşkun Üsterci were detained when they staged a silent protest on 10 November 2015 in front of the İzmir Governorate. The group was protesting the curfew and the attacks of the security forces in Silvan district of Diyarbakır.

The police intervened a demonstration staged on 10 November 2015 to protest in the government’s decision for not allowing Aziz Güler’ body to be taken by his family on Rojava border for funeral. Aziz Güler was killed while fighting against IS/ISIS in Rojava region of Syria and his body was not taken for the last 53 days.
The protesters staged the demonstration in front of the Prime Minister’s office in Dolmabahçe Palace. The police detained 9 persons during the intervention.

Onur Can who was detained during a house raid in Adana was arrested on 10 November 2015 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”.
On 10 November 2015, the police raided the premises of Dersim Free Students Association (Dersim Özgür Öğrenci Derneği – DÖ-DER) and the houses of the members of the association. At least 10 persons were reportedly detained during the raids.
