(09/054) Operations and Attacks in the Southeast…

In the rural areas Şemdinli district of Hakkari, the bodies of 7 militants who died during an armed clash were found on 9 September 2015.

According to the official announcement by the General Staff, 2 militants were killed during the operations conducted after the bomb attack on 5 September 2015 against a military troop in Dağlıca village of Şemdinli district of Hakkari.

A police officer was killed, 2 police officers and one civilian were wounded during the armed attack against police houses in Tunceli on 9 September 2015.

8 militants were reportedly killed during an armed clash on 9 September 2015 in the rural areas of Şenkaya district of Erzurum.

2 police officers were wounded when a police vehicle was attacked on 10 September 2015 during patrol nearby Justice and Development Party (AKP) premises in Diyarbakır.

An armed attack was organised against police officers in Diyarbakır when they were in a soup shop on 11 September 2015. the waiter Şeyhmus Sanır (22) died, 3 police officers were wounded during the attack.

Governorate of Tunceli announced that 11 regions in the province were decided to be military security zones from 1 September 2015 to 1 March 2016. Entrance of civilians to the military security zones was also banned. Governorate of Elazığ announced 17 regions; Governorate of Diyarbakır announced 25 regions military security zones.

Governorate of Siirt announced that the implementation of security military zones in several regions of Pervari district was prolonged for until 15 June 2016.

3 health officers were reportedly abducted on 9 September 2015 when they went to Çukurca village of Bingöl.

(09/055) Suspicious Private Death in Hakkari…

According to the announcement on 8 September 2015, Şahin Şimşek who was serving for compulsory military service in Şemdinli district of Hakkari died. He was Kurdish origin and registered to Haymana district of Ankara. He allegedly died during an armed clash or committed suicide.

(09/056) Cizre under Siege…

After the declaration of curfew in Cizre district of Şırnak on 4 September 2015, the number of the casualties reached 19 during the operations of security forces in the district.

A group of HDP executives including Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş, MPs, and ministers wanted to go to Cizre for solidarity. The convoy of the group was stopped in Midyat district of Mardin. Security Forces did not allow the group. But the group decided to go to Cizre on foot. The group spent the night in İdil district. On 10 September 2015, the group decided to go back to İdil district when security forces did not allow the group to enter Cizre and threatened them to intervene and disperse.

Bahattin Sevinik (50) and Suphi Sarak (50) died on 9 September 2015 when their house was attacked with a rocket launcher.

During the attacks on 10 September 2015 in Nur quarter, Eşref Edin was killed and 4 persons were heavily wounded.

Zeynep Taşkın (18) and Maşallah Edin (35) were killed by the snipers. Sait Nayici (17) was shot to death.

D.B. (9) was wounded when a sniper shot her/him at arm.

Selman Ağar (10) and Bünyamin İrci (14) were shot by snipers on 11 September 2015. They died when security forces did not allow ambulances to hospitalise them.

Mehmet Dikmen (70) whose health condition worsened due to heart problem died at home for not being hospitalised.

(09/057) Attacks against HDP, Hate Crimes throughout Turkey…

After the bomb attack in Dağlıca village of Hakkari which led to death of 16 soldiers according to the official announcement by the General Staff, attacks against the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) premises continued on 9 and 10 September 2015.

Unidentified persons organised an armed attack against the HDP premises in Uşak. A group of ultra-nationalists attacked in Bolu province the East and Southeast Anatolia Solidarity and Development Association (Doğu ve Güneydoğu Yardımlaşma Dayanışma ve Kalkınma Derneği) and a kebab house. The attacks caused material damage.

HDP premises in Marmaris district of Muğla, İstanbul, Bursa, Kocaeli, İzmir, Erzincan, Bartın and Kahramanmaraş were also attacked.

D.H.C. who was detained in connection with setting HDP Head Quarters to fire was arrested on 9 September 2015 on the allegations of “damaging premises, buildings, and properties of political parties”, “preventing political rights”, and “attempt to theft”.

4 persons who set the shops of Kurdish owners to fire in Kırşehir were arrested.

4 Kurdish workers were attempted to be lynched in Beyşehir district of Konya.

On 9 September 2015, 2 persons who bought tickets to Erzurum from Trabzon Bus Terminal were attacked and tried to be lynched on the allegations of being PKK members.

2 Kurdish shop owners were attacked on 10 September 2015 by a group of ultra-nationalists in Küçükköy quarter of Gaziosmanpaşa district in İstanbul. Ramazan Süt who was shot at head during the attack was heavily wounded.

(09/058) Armed Attack in Hatay…

A soldier died when a military troop was opened fire from Syria during patrol nearby Cilvegözü Border Gate in Reyhanlı district of Hatay.

(09/059) Persons Beaten by the Police in Diyarbakır…

After the curfew declaration in Bismil district of Diyarbakır on 8 September 2015, the police stopped a vehicle and beat all 5 persons in the vehicle for minutes. After the objection of people nearby, the police reportedly detained 5 persons.

(09/060) Hunger Strikes in Prisons…

The prisoners incarcerated several prisons and convicted in PKK and KCK cases continue hunger strike started to protest in the recent military operations and arrests. Hunger strike reached its 28th day as of 11 September 2015.

According to the news appeared in the press on 9 September 2015, 8 prisoners who were incarcerated in Edirne F-type Prison and started hunger strike were reportedly beaten.

(09/061) Protesters Attacked in İstanbul…

4 members of Mücadeli Birliği (Union of Struggle) who opened a placard saying “Kürt halkı yalnız değildir (Kurdish people are not alone)” on 10 September 2015 on the roof of a shop on Taksim Square were detained under beatings

(09/062) Political Party Premises Attacked in Ankara…

Republican People’s Party (CHP) premises in Sincan district of Ankara was attacked on 8 September 2015 by a group known as “Osmanlı Ocakları”.

(09/063) Operations throughout Turkey…

İsmail Tayden and Remzi Coşkun who were detained in Muş and Bulanık district were arrested on 8 September 2015 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”.

The police conducted operations on 8 September 2015 in Bitlis and Silvan district of Diyarbakır and detained 2 persons. The reason of the operations was not disclosed. The police also detained 3 persons in the city centre of Diyarbakır.

On 8 September 2015, 7 persons were detained in Menemen district of İzmir during the operations conducted by the police.

Mustafa Tezel, Serhat Bulgurlu, Hüseyin Vural and Tayfun Yıldız who were detained during a demonstration staged in Gazi quarter of Sultangazi district in İstanbul to protest in the military operations and curfew declarations were arrested on 9 September 2015 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation” and “making propaganda of an illegal organisation”.

Resul Sarı, Co-Mayor if Bismil district in Diyarbakır, his son and 2 siblings were detained during  a house raid conducted on 9 September 2015.

İlyas Bozkurt, Democratic Regions Party (DBP) executive in Suruç district of Şanlıurfa, and Ömer Kaya, Mehmet Selçuk, Ferzende Abay and İsmail Tikit in Iğdır were arrested on 10 September 2015 on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”.

The police intervened a group of persons in Karayazı district of Erzurum who wanted to stage a demonstration on 10 September 2015 to protest in the attacks in Cizre and detained 2 persons.

(09/064) House Raids in İstanbul…

The police conducted house raids against the members of Socialist Party of the Oppressed on 8 September 2015 in İstanbul and detained 17 persons.
