(11/001) Person Killed by the Police in Mardin…

Ahmet Ünal who was shot by the police and heavily wounded during the intervention against the demonstration staged on 18 October 2015 in Kızıltepe district of Mardin to protest in the Ankara Massacre died on 2 November 2015 in the hospital in Diyarbakır.

 (11/002) Armed Attack in Siirt…

Lawyer Mehmet Nezir Okur was organised an armed attack and heavily wounded on 2 November 2015 in Siirt. He died later in the hospital.

(11/003) Operations and Attacks in the Sourtheast…

On 3 November 2015, Diyarbakır Governorate declared curfew in 3 quarters of Silvan district to close the ditches in the quarters.

(11/004) Person Killed by the Police in Diyarbakır…

The police conducted operations on 3 November 2015 in Silvan where curfew was implemented for the 6th time in the last few months. Security forces reportedly opened fire from armoured vehicles and shot Müslüm Tayyar (22) to death while he was going home.

(11/005) Child Shot by the Police in Diyarbakır…

On 1 November 2015, the police attacked the groups who gathered in front of the premises of Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) and Democratic Regions Party (DBP) to follow the results of the elections. The police used real bullets and tear gas to disperse the crowd. A child was shot by the police and wounded.

(11/006) Person Shot in İstanbul…

The police opened fire against a person on 2 November 2015 when the person wanted to enter the Huber Mansion, the State President’s office in İstanbul. Security forces and the person reportedly had a dispute when the person insisted to enter the mansion. The police opened fire against him when the persons did not obey the stop warning while leaving the mansion. He was heavily wounded.

According to the official announcement, the person took the weapon of a police officer during the quarrel and opened fire. He allegedly attempted to commit suicide afterwards.

(11/007) Stop Warning…

The polcie opened fire against a vehicle on 1 November 2015 in Patnos district of Ağrı on the allegations of not obeying stop warning. Vehbi Boğurcu was wounded during the incident. 4 persons were detained.

(11/008) Child Shot by the Police in Balıkesir…

The police reportedly opened fire against a bus on 29 October 2015 and shot Afghani H.H. (13). The child was hospitalised and still in intensive care unit in Balıkesir. The bus was reportedly carrying refugees from İstanbul to Çanakkale.

(11/009) Vartinis Massacre Case…

Kırıkkale Heavy Penal Court continued on 2 November 2015 to hear the case against Hasköy Gendarmerie Station Commander Captain B.K., Infantry First Lieutenant H.A., Gökyazı Gendarmerie Station Commander Master-Sergeant T.N. and Special Operations Division Deputy Director Ş.U. who were on duty on 17 May 1993 when house of a family had been set to fire in Vartinis (Altınova) town of Korkut district in Muş on the grounds that the family was “aiding and abetting an illegal organisation”.

Nasır Öğüt (43), his wife Eşref Öğüt (43), their children Sevim Öğüt (13), Sevda Öğüt (12), Şakir Öğüt (11), Mehmet Şirin Öğüt (8), Cihat Öğüt, Aycan Öğüt (1), and Cihan Öğüt (4) had died during the fire and the indictment wants the defendants to be sentenced 9 times to life imprisonment. The indictment was prepared by Public Prosecutor in Muş, but the case was transferred to Kırıkkale for alleged security reasons.

In his opinion as to the accusations, the Public Prosecutor wanted the defendants to be sentenced for “killing by omission”. The court adjourned the hearing to 21 December 2015 for the preparation of the defence as to the accusations. The court also suspended the judicial control decision against the defendants.

(11/010) Person Beaten by the Police in Batman…

Müslüm Mustafaoğlu alleged that he was beaten by the security forces during a road control in Batman. He was also denied when he went to police station to make an official complaint. He was allegedly sad that “the police officers were tense for the recent killings of the police officers”.

(11/011) Magazine Confiscated…

The police raided the premises of the weekly Nokta in İstanbul on 2 November 2015 after the confiscation decision for the last issue of the magazine. The cover of the issue was the State President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Editor-in-chief Cevheri Güven and managing editor Murat Çapan detained during the raid.

(11/012) Protest Intervened in Mersin…

The police intervened the members of the People’s Front (Halk Cephesi) who wanted to stage a demonstration on 2 November 2015 in Mersin to protest in the killing of Dilek Doğan in İstanbul. 4 persons were detained under beatings during the intervention.

(11/013) Gezi Park Trials…

Kayseri Heavy Penal Court No 8 concluded on 2 November 2015 to hear the case against 161 persons launched on charges of “violating the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations”, “resisting security forces”, and “damaging public property” in connection with the Gezi Park demonstrations staged in Kayseri.

After the Public Prosecutor’s opinion as to the accusations and final defence, the court sentenced one defendant to 5 months’ imprisonment, 2 defendants to 7 months’ imprisonment for “damaging public property”. 25 defendants were sentenced to one year’s imprisonment for “resisting security forces”. The court acquitted 133 defendants and suspended the sentences.

(11/014) Political Party Premises Attacked in Çorum…

Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) premises in Çorum was stoned on 2 November 2015. H.A. (50) was detained in connection with the incident.

(11/015) Operations throughout Turkey…

İ.K. (17) was detained on 2 November 2015 in Dargeçit district of Mardin when s/he went to Security Directorate to testify. İ.K. was arrested on the same day on the allegations of “being member of an illegal organisation”.
